The thing is they offered to pay for his education. Whether or not he ever stepped on the field or not he had a full ride to a good university to get an education so he can make a living. With him having such a high GPA academics probably played a big role in his decision. There is a lot more to it than just being good enough to play football there. You just cant justify what UL did here.

I disagree on that point. I think the coach who was in charge of Durham's recruiting should make the call. Not sure if that is what happened or not, but I think that is the ideal situation.

Speaking AS a Louisville student, there are a few programs in undergrad that would have been above the educational level he'll likely receive if he goes to another local D-IA like Kentucky or Cincy. McConnell Political Science Department, Speed School, College of Business and precious little else is considered to be academically superior at Louisville compared to those schools.

I just think its an awful thing to do and a lot of the UL fans on this board want to sweep it under the rug and act like it isnt a big deal.

If it was your son, or your family member, or a friend, or so,eome from your HS it is a big deal.
