Have to replace a lot of scoring from last year. May be a slow build, but the Colonels should be a regional threat come March.

The big question will be if Michael Mayer stays with basketball. All indications are that he will.

Who will be the starting 5 if Mayer plays? Disken, Davin, Fleek, Mayer, Thelen?

I would think so but Neal Greene will be hard to keep out of the starting lineup.

CCH always has talent. IMO, they will be just fine.

Perhaps right now it's all just overblown fantasy in my head, but I'm seeing Thelen and Fleek relentlessly controlling the inside to ridiculous proportions.

Call it dunk city. What team will possibly have enough 'D' to adequately cover both of them at the same time? If Fleek ain't dunking, Thelen will, if Thelen ain't dunking, Fleek will. They're just gonna toy with their opponents. Then you have Mayer's bulk and muscle crowding things up and making things all that much more of a headache for teams, and Davin's nothing to sneeze at either, and all being lead by more than adequate experienced smart guard play.

Outside of Disken though I'm still waiting to see who's really got it going on when controlling the rock, and undoubtedly CCH will have some upstarts that are not completely on my radar just yet.

Cooper will still be competitive, but I really don't see anybody touching the Colonels. Though Ruthsatz tends to have his teams to be guard centric, I just don't know how this year he's going to avoid running so much more through all of that length. The answer is he won't...those big boys this season IMO will be the story.

CCH could easily have 5 players average around 10+ points compared to last year's team with two averaging more than 16.

The top 6 of Thelen, Fleek, Davin, Disken, Greene, and Mayer will all have big nights depending on the various match-ups.

Even if Mayer doesn't play, Greene can completely fill his shoes. We will see this in the first couple of games while Mayer is playing for another football state championship (which will make 3 total rings for him)!

This team will easily be ranked in the Kentucky's top 5 this season.

Does anybody know if they will be playing in any tournaments this year? I saw on the KOB thread that CCH will not be playing there this year, are they playing in any holiday tournaments?

Besides the bigs inside.... who will be scoring from the outside? Believe it or not, with a zone defense, you can stop bigs from dunking every time. Who is the outside threat? Will Davin finally show why he crossed the river to be at CCH? How does the depth at the guard position look?

Grant Disken will be the point and outside threat. It will be Disken and a bunch of athletic "bigs" for the most part. Behind Disken, there will competition between 3 Jr guards, and Sophomore point guard Murphy (Kez's son). It will also be interesting to see how CCH defends 3 and 4 guard lineups. I know Thelen can step out and guard the perimeter. Not so sure about the others.

Will any team in NKy be able to compete with CCH? In years past it’s only been Cooper. Is this year a foregone conclusion?

I think Cooper will be right there again.
