I certainly hope the Ashland posters will add to the conversation this week leading up to and after the game. As vocal as they are in nearly every other thread, it is a shame if they don't hold up their share of the conversation in this one.

I wonder if they know how silly and petty it makes them look when they orchestrate this stupid "boycot" of these game threads. It reminds me of the kid whose team falls behind in a sandlot game and he decides to take his ball and go home. I know it may not be be perfect scenario, and it looks bleak for them, but bowing out of the conversation entirely is a bit cowardly, IMO.

Surely they can show good sportsmanship and hold their composure long enough to discuss the biggest game of their season. Their kids deserve it, their fans deserve it and BGP deserves it.

So Tomcat fans, don't bow out, stay in the game and let's talk it up. Don't just sit idly by and watch the changing of the guard in silence.

I'm a Tomcat fan, and I've been posting. It's post just like this though that get threads going down hill fast. Let's just keep the talk about the game, and leave the attacks toward one another out of it. :irked:

You are exempted then, and you have been very unbias in your posts.

Sorry if I struck a nerve, but it stinks to open a thread for a game this big and only read one side of the story.

I've lost some respect for the great tradition of Ashland football. Shame too.

The game is 6 days away. Give everyone a chance. I honestly don't remember seeing any post from you in a JC thread all year. What is your excuse?

Well for starters I am not a JC fan.

But that isn't what kept me away. I didn't have a computer that worked for a while. Plus my family had to move because our old house got demolished and I just got straightened back out.

I went back and read some old threads including the JC/Ashland threads from a few weeks ago and it struck me the wrong way.

Atleast most of them gave there congrats after the game. A couple didnt but that was expected of them. It is boring not being able to debate.

Most of the Ashland posters showed the upmost class in the thread about the outcome of the game. I still didnt understand the silence tactic in the predictions thread the last time around but... LCRW, Catdaddy, Graybeard, etc. are some of the classest people we have here on BGP and are what makes BGP the best forum for high school sports talk.

I look for the outcome to be pretty close to the same as last time. I believe JC will be ready for this one. They know wat is expected. The only thing that bothers me...and I guess this is really just silly superstition...is the is the difficulty of maintaining a perfect record. There are not many teams that have the ability to run the table. This may sound crazy...but I almost wish this team had a loss on their record. I guess that goes back to playing a tougher non-district schedule.

With that said...I still believe JC rolls in this one.

JC 42

Ashland 7

It pains me greatly to say this, but like LRCW, I just don't see the Tomcats playing the level of intense football that it will take to beat JC.

I think Grim and company have too many tools on offense, and the Ashland line will have to play inspired football for the Tomcats to put enough points on the board to keep up.

Also like LRCW, I have picked against the Tomcats all year, so I'll keep the streak alive:

Johnson Central 38

Ashland 7

Good luck to both teams, but I know you'll understand why I hope that the Tomcat coaching staff can prove my prediction wrong once again.

I look for the T-cats to bring their A game friday. However I just dont think it will be good enough.

I don't know what it will take to get this bunch of Tomcats up for a game but if they do I honestly feel we can play with J.C.

Ashland 21

Johnson Central 20

Missed extra point wins it for Ashland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it is debate you want I say you have to win this game to be considered to have reached the status of a big named program. And of course you need seats on both sides of the field.

Yeah, that's it. My little ole belly can't hold much. You can buy me all I can eat. :thumb: :thumb: No one who knows me better say a thing. :sssh:

Let me know if you need a corner man, LRCW. If you start to get bloated like the last time, I'll be ready to cut you, to relieve the pressure...

Besides - somebody is going to have carry out the 30 gallon trash can full of cheeseburger wrappers...

I agree with you completely!!! This is a must-win game...otherwise this season is a failure for the Golden Eagles. Actually, for this team, I feel that anything less than a Regional Title will be a failure. Regular-season wins are nice but you have to get it done in the playoffs. As for the second requirement...I believe they are working on that as well. :thumb:
