No one the the state of Ky has beaten Middlesboro. Only loss is to a very good Knoxville Central team. Beat the same Corbin team that Rocastle Co. only beat 2-0, 62-42 at Corbin I believe. QB is a good as anyone I have seen this year.

Russell is still the champ until someone knocks them off. I look for our 2nd consecutive repeat champion in AA.

Russel has a good team as always, but the Titans are like a runaway train headed straight for a giant pizza box in the ville................WHEN THEY GET THERE THE SCORE (regardless of the opponent) WILL BE WHATEVER COACH JAGGERS WANTS IT TO BE! ...................opinions are like nose every ones got them and they pretty much all smell,but in 2a: yall playin for 2nd!:dancingpa

There are a lot of 2A teams that I haven't seen play but in following the scoreboard here I can say that it will take a UPSET to knock the Titans from the winners stand this year. They are the real deal but they can beat themselves or they can be upset.. March on Titans..

Lloyd is as good as anybody in Russell's district. They are a young team this year. They got behind early to Mercer and just kinda gave in. They are a good football team.

 

Mercer is a very good 2A football team who have a good shot at the title. Lloyd was not a very good team this year, as I think even the people in Erlanger would tell you.

Let me say this...for the past 4 years, I have read numerous posts about what 1 team in 2A will take it all and is unbeatable and then that team plays a really good team and is beaten and everyone starts saying "I guess they hadn't played a hard team".

 

I'm not saying the Mercer isn't a very good team or that won't be in the State Championship this year. What I am saying is that the one team that everyone has hyped all year long, hasn't won or even been in the State Championship the past 4 years.

Let me say this...for the past 4 years, I have read numerous posts about what 1 team in 2A will take it all and is unbeatable and then that team plays a really good team and is beaten and everyone starts saying "I guess they hadn't played a hard team".

 

I'm not saying the Mercer isn't a very good team or that won't be in the State Championship this year. What I am saying is that the one team that everyone has hyped all year long, hasn't won or even been in the State Championship the past 4 years.

 

2003- Owensboro Catholic with Craig Lanham running and Zach Bernard passing couldn't be stopped... Belfry wins championship (OC missed championship game)

 

2004- Elizabethtown returned 4 or 5 D-1 prospects from their state runner-up team and defending champ Belfry "lost too much talent"... Belfry wins championship. (Etown missed championship game)

 

2005- Fort Campbell was unstoppable with their superior athletes... Russell wins championship (FC missed championship game)

 

2006- Mercer County will only be beat when the other team scores 30 points.... let's see what happens.

Trends that can't be ignored:

 

-Each year listed the favorite didn't even make Louisville.

 

-Each favorite was based upon their superior athleticism and/or speed.... combined D-1 players from past three state championship teams (Russell/Belfry) = 1... David Jones

 

- In the past five years Region 4 has produced 4 teams in the state championship game and have went 3-1.

 

- The #1 team in the final Cantrell Ratings/Lit Ratings in 2A has not won the state title since Bardstown in 2001.

Give Mercer all the respect they deserve, I don't care who you have played and when you go undefeated in the regular season you deserve respect. Yes a good team on any given night can be beat. They do not have a cake walk next week against a good team in Newport. Mercer has worked hard over the years to put this team on the field and I think everyone should respect what they have done to date. I think over all from what I have read and seen in Bluegrass Preps they are one of the best 2A teams around. There are still alot of good teams in the playoffs and I do not think Mercer is looking ahead. I wish them only the best of luck. JD
