Virginia Tech just struggled to beat a UNC team that lost to East Carolina 41-19...and let's not forget Old Dominion. You really think ND is a top 4 team?? I watch enough football to know anything can happen on any given Saturday, but I also know what my eyes tell me and ND would get beat by 2 TDs by Clemson, Bama, OSU, LSU, and Georgia. I also don't think ND could keep up with an offense like Oklahoma. I'm not arguing for or against ND at 4 but what exactly have your eyes seen from Clemson that tells you they are beating any top 10 team by 2 TD's?

I don’t trust anyone outside of Bama, Ohio State, and Clemson. I think ND is squarely in the class with LSU, Michigan, Georgia, Texas, and Oklahoma. I don’t see much difference in those 6 teams right now. I don’t know if ND would beat them and I don’t know if they would beat ND. I’m 100% still using that Michigan win because it’s the strongest team ND has played. They looked great in their one true test. Every “big” game on their schedule they have looked really good. Every mediocre game on their schedule they have looked like crap. I have no idea what to make of them. If you don’t see where motivation is in all likelihood playing a role in that I don’t know what to tell you. Michigan, Virginia Tech, and Stanford are way better than Ball State, Vandy, and Pitt but their margin of victory in those games is a lot more than the margin of victory in the other games. How is motivation not a determining factor? It’s just sheer coincidence that ND plays better against good teams than they do bad teams? I don’t think so. The Wake Forest game is the only real outlier to that pattern on the schedule. I’m just curious what other conclusion you can draw from that. Yes I have questions about ND. But hell I have questions about every team right now including Bama. Bama and Ohio State look like Big 12 teams right now. If Ohio State and Bama played right now the over/under may be 100. It’s still too early to be making the claims that you are making.

I mean, Pitt would have probably had a better showing against Purdue.

I also don't think ND could keep up with an offense like Oklahoma. Your eyes may be lying to you then. Especially when you say Notre Dame would lose to OSU, Clemson, LSU, Georgia by 2 tds. Shoot Georgia was a better team last year and Notre Dame wasnt that good last year and Georgia barely won. Notre Dame beat basically this same LSU team just 10 months ago. You seem to be putting a lot of stock in Notre Dame barely beating Pitt. Yet Pitt beat Syracuse who was beating Clemson all game this year until the very end of the game. We already just seen what happened to OSU to a bad Purdue team. LSU lost to a Florida team who lost at home to a one dimensional UK team. So yes I think your eyes may be lying to you, or you might be letting personal bias of not liking Notre Dame effect what you think you see. Imo its Bama right now and then Notre Dame is right in the mix with everyone else when it comes to how good the next best team is.
