Tilghman 70-0?

Yep. Only time they've allowed more points, and that's one of only three other times they've had a larger margin in a defeat.

All of which is a testament to how good this team that BG just played was, because the Purples are very, very good.

That Homecoming Game was the last straw for Jody Ellis’s term at BG.

Barren County bought their way out of games with BG and SW (which I think was a good move for BC).

SW picked up a game with a team John Denver wrote a song about and won easily.

BG picked up a national powerhouse and got waxed.

Did either benefit? Was either harmed?

IMO if any team would be harmed, it would be Bowling Green due to the fact that they are playing for the district title next week. If they got out of the game with everyone healthy, I'd so no. I wouldn't think playing the team from CO would have helped SW sounded like an easy win. Again, if everyone got away healthy, no harm.

Bowling Green got better by playing Warren Central. I think teams almost always get better when they play a superior opponent. It pushes your players and exposes weaknesses. Players improve by playing against better players.

I talked to one of the coaches today from BG and he said he doesn’t mind losing he just hopes the kids learn from their mistakes and become better from it. He said that WC was probably the best team he’s ever seen play and that even if BG had played its best game they still would’ve lost by 4+ touchdowns. The coaches meeting before half was to discuss the running clock situation since they don’t have one in Indiana, but they decided to let it run the second half. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes and bounce back from it even better. Also nobody was injured so that’s a plus.

Finally getting around to posting. I went up for the game. I don't have much to add, but a few thoughts and observations.

#1 Out of the many, many high school football games I have seen in my life this Warren Central Indianapolis is by far and away the best team I have ever seen. Period. It is also the only high school football that you had to go through full blown TSA security to get into. Also no leaving the stadium and reentry. Once you left, you had to pay to get back in as well as go back through security.

#2. Weather was miserable. It was about 39 degrees and a steady rain the entire game.

#3. Warren Central Indianapolis has more than 5000 students in the school. The football team had 38 seniors most had played all 4 years.

#4. There was no bad coaching, bad playing or lack of effort. This team was just bigger, faster, stronger at every position. If you can picture in your mind Bowling Green playing Barren County or the older bad Logan County teams, that is what this game looked like. Warren Central didn't run any trick offense or anything. They could do whatever they wanted when they wanted. I've never seen a Bowling Green team so helpless. Again nothing to do with coaching or lack of effort, the Purples were just outmatched by 100 miles.

#5 This was a bad timing game catching Bowling Green coming off a bye and a week for the biggest game of the year. Least it is out of the way and done. I don't believe there were any injuries. I certainly didn't see any and didn't hear of any, so hopefully that is accurate. Just have to tip the cap move on. This team was that much better nothing you can do about it. It got the rust out of the bye week out of the way. And South Warren won't be anywhere near as good. But South Warren does have a great OL/DL, certainly not as good as this Warren Central team, so that will hopefully help BG prepare and learn.

I was there. Like Forest Gump, an elementary kid in love with Jenny. Followed her around all night so I only remembered the score. I had to tell my parents something about the game when I went home.

I assume there wont be a return game next year?

I assume there wont be a return game next year?

This was only a fill in game since Barren County bought out this years district slot, which Christian County will fill next season
