November 3, 200619 yr Not real sure.....That is one question I have for UofL fans....Would you rather your team play in the National Title game, and (once again not bashing) most likely get beat by more than a TD by tO$U/UM or make a BCS game and finish the season undefeated? If I was a UL fan I say NC game. There is no better way to promote your program than by playing on the highest stage possible. Will they get throttled by O$U or Michigan, most likely. But I think it would be a big step for the program.

November 3, 200619 yr And let's be honest. UL would be thrilled with those results long term... Not sure I understand. If you are saying UL would be satisfied with either scenerio, than I agree. It is a win / win situation. Obviously on any given Sunday (or Saturday if you will) anything can happen, but I just don't see anyone except for UM playing with tO$U. The only reason I see UM hanging with them is that it is such a rivilary game that you never know what is going to happen. I believe that the Buckeye offense is just as potent as WVU, with the big difference being that the Buckeye D just may be their strongest aspect.

I'm in the belief that going to the big game and being blown out (I know anything can happen, but let's be honest) can be worse than being "dissed" and finishing #2 undefeated. For Auburn? Not so much. For UL and even the BEast, it's a perfect storm...

Blah. Blah. Blah. The people predicting a WVU blowout didn't know much about WVU. You would get less exposure on primetime solo on a different day? I'll just let it play out, and see where it goes...
November 3, 200619 yr UL just hung 44 points on the #8 scoring defense (32 points over their average) in the country and they held the #2 scoring offense to 10 points below their season average......? Unless its like the NFL where all teams play a lot of the same teams, how many pts scored per game and how many given up per game are really poor at telling the story. Secondly, WVU's D may want to point out that they gave up 30 - not 44.
November 3, 200619 yr I say UofL will be number 3 this week. About the NC shot. I'll take it!!! How many times in the last decade has any team from KY been involved in a National Title shot in Division I football. Got to take the shot. Go Cards, no let down against Rutgers.

I dont see how it hurts playing in the National Title game, yeah they probably would get beat pretty good and recruits would see that. But recruits would also see that they made the National Championship game, and then with how kids are today they probably will think well if I go there I might be able to be the one who helps get them over the top and win the actual game now... Now in the end I think it would be better for atleast the fans to get snub and then maybe go win a BCS bowl so the UL faithful could always hang there hat on thinking that maybe they were the best team in the country instead on knowing that they weren't... Either way though I would love my team to be in the shoes that UL is in right now...:thumb:
