Does Fulton County have a shot beating Russellville?

Featured Replies

Fulton County has had a great start to their season in 2018. They are 4-1 on the season, they lost their first game last week to Greenfield (TN). They have also matched the win total from 2014-2017. They won a total of 4 games in that four year stretch. They also have the states leading scorer in Class 1A, Caleb Kimble who has rushed for over 1000 yards already and 18 touchdowns. Russellville has been on the decline for the past few years, and aren’t the same team as the past. What’s your thoughts on the Pilots upsetting Russellville?

I love what Fulton County is doing, and that they have found some out of district opponents that they can get some W's against, and it is a testament to their improvement that they are in this conversation. This is the kind of story that makes high school football so much fun to watch, and I always pull for the underdogs.

That said, they won't be able to beat Russellville. I hope I am wrong and if I am, I will eat my crow.

Russellville appears to be down this year, but "the past few years"?

They've have been to region finals, semis (15 & 16) and even 9/10 win 2nd round seasons even dating back to when they played up in 3A dating back to 2007.

According to the Litkenhous ratings, Fulton County should win by 50. Lol

I think it should be competitive. Russellville looks down according to their losses/scores, but the teams that have beaten them are all pretty good. I suspect Fulton County stays close for a while but Russellville gets the win on the home field.

I was gonna say, a little misleading. Russellville is Russellville... Fulton County is off to a Great Start. Happy for those Coaches and Players that have showed so much improvement. Keep Grinding Men... But, the Panthers win this one by 2 scores.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Noooooooo.

What Fulton County is doing is awesome. It really and truly is, and you have to love their story. But, with that being said, Russellville is still an overall better team, and I'm not sure it's that close. I doubt that it would be a running clock game, but Russellville would be able to pull their starters in the 2nd half.

I think Russellville is the favorite, but this may be closer than some expect. I’ll take the Panthers 21-14.

I just went over to CalPreps and it said Fulton County 34 and Russellville 28!

But what does a computer know.... well the longer the season rolls on the more precise CalPreps usually is. It is one of the few I believe in getting their opinion come later in the season. Question is: is it late enough in the season to really predict this kind of upset.

Unfortunately, I think it is too early in the season. My heart is pulling for the Pilots, but my head says Russellville all day long!!! We shall see!
