Heisman Thoughts After Week 4

Featured Replies

I've seen Tua play in every game. I think if he was able to play full games he would be even further ahead. Best QB in the game and it's really not that close.

I'm putting Snell 2nd. He went off against one of the best D lines this year against Miss St. And that's with them knowing he's getting the ball.

I'd put Murray third although I did not see the Army game so not sure what happened there. Haskins would be a close 4th.

That's what was so great about Benny's game Saturday night. Mississippi State has two top 15-20 NFL draft prospects on that line. No one has been able to run on them. Snell made them look silly, and like you said, he let them know he was coming before the game. Dude talks a lot, but he definitely delivers.

Grier: 71/95 74.7% 1117 yards 14 TD 3 INT

Benny Snell and Jonathan Taylor have the same yards per attempt but Snell as 2 more TDs. Only running back ahead of these 2 right now stats wise is Darrell Henderson from Memphis who is averaging 12.2 yards per carry on 58 attempts and has 8 TDs.

Tua looked human in the 2nd half Saturday...actually made a few bad throws and wasn't sharp. Of course he's not played but a handful of 2nd half snaps this season, so he could have lost focus at half time.

Brett McMurphy just tweeted the latest Heisman odds:

Tua 2/3

Haskins, Murray 5/1

Grier 6/1

McSorley, Milton 20/1

Dillon, Love 30/1

Fromm, Herbert, Lock, Swift 50/1

Snell 80/1

I’d throw $100 on Snell right now with those odds.

You can Venmo me $100 and I promise it will be put to better use.

:lol2:

I remember last year’s L’ville vs UK game – Snell was a beast and darn near impossible to stop. I’m sure he’s even better this season (I’m already wondering just how badly UK will crush the Ville this year, lol)! Definitely not surprised he’s in contention - it’s very exciting when someone from “your” team is in the discussion!

So you’re saying it’s a 2 horse race?

If we're all being honest, it's probably a 1 horse runaway barring something unforeseen occurring.

I don’t disagree with you. It’s Tua’s to lose. Unless he gets injured or struggles in their big games I don’t see anyone else winning it right now. Usually September heismans don’t pan out (see Saquon Barkley last year) but Tua is different and we all know it.

You’re 100% right. Crazy to think that people picked Hurts to start over the Heisman front runner vs. UL.
