In regards to Blazer what AAU phenoms are you talking about?

Cubster is referring to Drew Mcdavid and Robby Wilcox who were big parts of the Eastern Ky Stars who won state Championships from the 5th grade through the 8th grade. Matt Thomas was also a part of that team for awhile.

Ashland, Russell,Rose Hill, and Elliot County are the teams with a lot of aau experience, although the Ashland players havnt participated in aau since 8th grade.

That ain't gonna happen, almost physically impossible, they may get two players who get 15 shots, but not all 5

I think the ranking is pretty solid, but I would say that Rose Hill should be in the #4 slot to start the year. As Cubster has pointed out, they might well move up from there.

Rose Hill appreciates the props and I hope like crazy you are correct but until the Royals beat one of those teams in front of them I think 6th is reasonable on potential alone.

9. BOYD-Expect a scrappy Lion bunch this year

10.EAST CARTER-Size could be a weak spot

11.FAIRVIEW-Another team with young talent

12.LEWIS-Lions return a couple scorers

13.FLEMING-New coach has tough task

14.BATH-Revolving coaches is not a good thing

15.WEST-Look for Jeremy Webb to improve this bunch by year's end

16.MENIFEE-Another new coach for Wildcats

 

As usual 4-16 can change as quick as our fickle weather.....

Just from what I remember from last season and what I know about these teams (which I admit is not much) I would basically agree with your poll, especially Russell at #1, they could very well be the best team that has represented this region in a long, long time. I may move Ashland in front of Elliot just bc of their history and "having been there before" and I know that GCHS will have some talent but to me I would move them down below Rowan & Rose Hill bc although talented they haven't seemed to put things together. With Rose Hill's potential they could very well end up MUCH higher.

If I recall, Greenup was the 63rd District champion a year ago.

I like your research. With Maynard cracking the lineup, I guess 75 is within reach if they averaged 67 a game last year. Especially how Coach Mays likes to push the ball.

You don't need to beg, but I don't remember when Zornes left, probally about the same time OJ left and Rose Hill was in the Regional, but that didnt stop you from Ranking Rose Hill up there (and I agree with you on Rose Hill) but Boyd County will probally win as many games as last years team, chemistry will be much better this year

 

I don't think that Boyd County will win as many as last season. They will probably have better chemistry and play hard, but they will have a tough time with the region's top teams.

also, the point I was questioning was 15 shots per game per starter, not 75 shots per game for the team

15 shots per starter just aint gonna happen
