Do your freshmen teams move up after their season is over?

Featured Replies

Do not be surprised to see the frosh get some special team time if we are up LARGE...Dale did it last year. And even ran some Offense with the Frosh (~1-2 minutes). And seeing how much in love Dale is with this class, he may play them the entire 4th quarter (LOL!)

South Oldham is better than the team HHS played in the 1st round last year. I really don't see the frosh getting a sniff this year

I hope all of the South Oldham players/ coaches are putting all this garbage about being up big and playing the freshman team up on the bullentin board and South Oldham Dragons come in with a chip on their shoulder and pull out a victory.

Slow down there Oh Great Mud Slinger. No fair trying to motivate South Oldham to pull off the upset:banana:. I think you missed the word "if" in DMZ's first sentence. "If" we are up large, the frosh would get some action based on prior year's experience. But I do not expect the Birds to be up big. I think it will be a very, very close game, much like it was last year when we played up here.

Logic: Birds are coming off a very disappointing loss to the blue Colonels. I'm afraid that the players minds are not focusing on S. Oldham. If right, we could be in for a real struggle. I hope I'm wrong about the focus and we don't take S. Oldham lightly. Can't play the blue Colonels again this year if we don't get past S. Oldham. We need to be more worried about winning than on whether the freddies get any time in the games. Their time will come and DMZ, we'll talk about Dale being in love in that class some other time.

Lanigan- I think this conversation atleast pertains to the thread topic so give us some credit. We may be overzealous in our thinking but like LN said.. DMZ did use "if" so no need to print this thread off and hang it in the SO locker room. With that said, I can gurantee you that the Birds are seething over that loss last week and I would not want to be on any scout team this week nor would I want to be their 1st round opponent.

SO is a worthy first round opponent...I hope we watch the last SO film from a couple weeks ago...they exposed some real weaknesses...despite the final score. And #40 played like an All-Stater that night! The D needs to evoke a little "payback" this week. SO put up 27 on 'em !!!!!!

Beechwood's 9th graders are encouraged to dress after their season is over. They are only required to be there on Tu/Wed/Game day. They can go to bball if they play on the other days. We had 13? freshman and 11 moved up to practice and actually got to play the first game they came up.

Lexington Catholic had about 35 freshmen this year. The participated in Varsity practice as if they were any other class, except for the last 20 minutes when they would work with the freshmen coaches and go agianst each other. They dress for all games including the playoffs. Nothing changes from the first day of summer practice if you are a freshmen.

I'd say some of the Frosh boys may even need some IcyHot today....especially Alford as he was delivering blows while running the ball. Lot of quality minutes for the Frosh / Soph's.....who was the big feller back deep to punt...he has to be 275lbs and looked like a tackle...had some nice wheels chasing down that snap over his head.... should have kicked it out of the endzone though....:D

#75 Cody "The Toe" Rosenhagen.

Everyone at Johnson Central dresses varisty for every game although the number of freshman that see much playing time is very small.

Same for Belfry.

"the Toe" has done a fine job filling in at 2nd/3rd team punter. Was that his first "varsity" punt that sailed over his head?? His next effort was a fine kick. One of the few kick off guys that kick...run down and make the tackle...go get his tee-throw it off the field...line up for D-line! And he's only a soph-o-more!
