Does this say more about DeSales or St. X?

 

I think lots of people knew DeSales would put up a tough fight, but unable to convert in the red zone and the mistake before the end of the half leads me to believe there is much more room for improvement on the St. X side

5 trips to the red zone for the Tigers nets 10 points. Inexcusable. There will always be a place in football for an under-center power attack at times when needed. Not in the arsenal at this point for the Tigers.

Congrats to Desales! Too many mistakes for Saint X. I still don't understand why we can't get under the center and run a dive play three times when we have the ball inside the 5-yard line!!!!! I'll never get it???

When X couldn’t punch it in from the one on two different occasions in the first half, they sealed their fate. The defense played well enough to win, the offense was bad minus one drive and one long pass play in the second half.

Tigers have two weeks to prepare for Bowling Green. I think they will learn a lot from this game. QB didn’t play last year so he will improve in next two weeks.

Something to think about... Certainly not trying to take anything away from DeSales as they made the plays to win the game, but I wonder how different this game is with X's starting QB in the lineup. I wonder how much (if any) the offense was different tonight than it would have been if #18 were taking the snaps.

The offense definitely better with Sullivan and that’s why he ‘s the normal starter. Have two weeks to prepare for BG.

Tough way to start the Wallace era, but with all things considered there’s no need to panic. I would imagine with a week off before they host BG, there will be noticeable improvement.

DeSales defense came up big time after time...couple with St.X turnovers and you sometime get a upset. X will be fine, new coach new system. X's coach did made a mistake by throwing late in the first half with no TO's...he'll get that straighten out. Like the fact that the Colts drove right back and score a TD after giving up the lead.....

This game was not on the quarterback. He was 17–24 for about 260 yards. That is pretty decent for a back up. He threw a couple of interceptions, but one of them was at the end of the first half on the play called that Coach Wallace admitted was not a good one.

 

This loss is on the lack of a tough, physical running game and an efficient red zone offense. Also, the defense needed a stop on the final DeSales drive of the game and could not come up with one. DeSales drove the ball 85 yard right down the throat of the tiger defense on their final scoring drive. The DeSales running game also converted a crucial first down after the final tiger turn over to seal the victory.

Agreed. And 45 rushing yards is not going to get it either.
