BGP QOTD: The Perfect Deli Sandwich

Featured Replies

You're asked to make "the perfect deli sandwich". You have every imaginal component at your disposal...meat, cheese, veggies, condiments, breads.

How do you make your perfect deli sandwich?

For me it's bologna, american cheese, lettuce and tomato with mayo on white bread.

Marble rye, Boar's Head Maple Ham and turkey, hot pepper cheese, tomato, lettuce, Hellmann's mayo and a touch of spicy mustard.

Dense wheat bread, rare beef, hard salami, sharp cheddar, bread & butter pickles, lettuce, tomato, and mayo.

Lots of beef. Thin layer of salami.

I have a few--

Smoked Turkey Breast and bacon on a toasted everything bagel with onion and chive cream cheese

Rare roast beef with swiss cheese warmed in the over until the cheese melts with horseradish sauce

Pepperoni, hot capicola, genoa salami, boiled ham and provolone with hot and sweet peppers, boars head hoagie dressing on a hoagie roll.

Subway’s honey oat wheat bread - about the only thing I like from subway.

Smoked turkey breast

Pepperjack cheese

Tomato

Extra crisp bacon

Shredded lettuce

Baked lays chips (on the sub)

Lots of Tabasco

Hard to beat a good club sandwich.

No matter how fresh my ingredients are, my sandwiches never taste as good as going to a deli and getting one.

I have two:

Bologna, American cheese, mayo, mustard and white bread.

Turkey, bacon, onion, lettuce, mayo, mustard, light pickle and white bread.

Never eat sandwiches anymore but man I would love to have either of these right about now.

or any sandwich from cobblestone in Fort Thomas, you really can't go wrong.

Don't think I've ever had both mayo and mustard on a sandwich. May have to try it though.

It's different I guess but I love it. I also love the combination of peanut butter and pickle so I may just have funky tastebuds hahah. Don't knock it until you try it I always say.

As a small boy my mom made me peanut butter and mayo sandwiches so I certainly can't talk.

I wish they would take the red onion out of their chicken salad.

It's not a Philly cheese steak if you don't have mustard and mayo both on it!

WHAT!!!!!

Spent my first 27 years living either in or within 1.5 hours of Philly, and eating Cheeseteaks all over the Greater Philly area. Mayo and mustard are NOT acceptable condiments for a real cheesesteak. If it’s a cheesesteak hoagie, THEN mayo is fine. But never mustard.

I can’t even fathom putting mayo and mustard in a regular cheese steak.
