I just hope we get to see the next round, in 38 years.....:thumb:

  I would only be 86 years old!!:D

This reminds me when I was a little boy, I used to sit in my great grandfather's kitchen and listen to the Cardinals' games with him. He would make his own scorecard and refused to watch a game on tv.

I would be close behind you in age but not that old....

My grandfather used to get Baseball Digest and I would read it all the time. I would visit or he would come to our house, bring his issues overs and I would be completely silent, reading away.

Wow, I'm like you and miss those days, spending time with my grandfather and watching baseball, sports in general....I really needed this thread today.

.... As long as they're grapes, fine with me. NWO was going to bring you with him, to an event later this year but since we are "so old", it may just be us "veterans" and leave you at home....right NWO.

 Close, he would take some old cardboard and and a ruler and make his that way.

Did he chew plug tobacco, like my grandfather and sit in his rocker, giving me that occasionally smile when something interesting would happen, stopping to explaining what a DP was, sacrifice bunt, pitch-out and cut-man....

We couldn't do that because you would need to stand on it to see the TV screen.:jump:

No he didn't chew or smoke. He would just sit quietly and listen to the game and drink his glass of water or tea. No one would be allowed to say a word during the game but me! That was because I was named after him. :D

I could make a joke about being able to stand up and still see my shoes, but I'll be nice... :bunny:

Here's my prediction for Game #4....

Detroit - 5

St. Louis - 4

My middle name as well, after my grandfather....:thumb:
I hear that! I pay for XM radio solely for the privilege of listening to Ron Santo and Pat Hughes call Cubs' home games! During the season, we are usually listening to a one game or another on the radio while in the car.

I have XM as well for listening to Reds and Yankees games.

I remember when I was a wee little lad back in Ohio, I would go into my uncle's house and see him sitting on the couch watching the game and listening to Marty and Joe. That's when I became a fan of the Reds. I became a fan of the game when my Dad took me to a LL game. Even though I didn't play, I loved to watch.

I can see my shoes. They are sitting right over there in the corner.:D

My first name is the same as my great grandfather's. He was my maternal great grandfather.
