October 25, 200620 yr Here's my prediction for Game #4.... Detroit - 5 St. Louis - 4 I'm sure you hope so, so that the following prediction will come true: Tigers in 6... :D
October 26, 200620 yr Populations NYC metro area 18.7 million Seattle 3 mil LA 13 mil Minn 3 mil Houston 5 mil Orlando under 2 mil Total 26 mil. Take out LA and the 4 big cities you mention don't even come close to matching the TV market of NYC. The NYC market is TWICE as large as the Chicago market. That even surprised me. http://www.citypopulation.de/USA-Metro.html And you might have something with Red Sox/Yankees. But explain why then Fox chose to put the Mets in prime time too? Are there scores of Mets fans living throughout the country? But yet they were in the same place on the TV schedule as the Yankees, in primetime. Who else was left? Of course, they were the next highest team left that would have given them the best ratings.
October 26, 200620 yr I get it. Baseball is in trouble and is on it's way to NHL land where hardly a soul watches and the station it is carried on is mostly watched by guys with guns. That's the sign of the times for TV. Reality is big. The thing that most people don't get is that sports is real "reality TV". Drama, watching grown men cry when losing the biggest game of their lives, and the winners take in all the accolades. Good post. Agree with everything. I wish it wasn't going to TBS either, but it is the world we live in these days.
October 26, 200620 yr I would have loved too see a day game, at least, on the weekends. That's something that no one will see until somebody other than Fox broadcasts the games. I know CBS didn't either, but ESPN would be crazy enough to do it. Heck, TBS would broadcast a day game. I guess it's left up to ol' Bud, though.:sssh: Your last sentence is correct. Its not up to FOX what time the games are played, its up to baseball. They get a certain amount of money depending on whether they choose a day or night game, and of course they get more money for night games.
October 26, 200620 yr I'm sure you hope so, so that the following prediction will come true: :D ....:sssh: This delay is killing me....me as well. I'm watching the college classic, until it begins. My first name after my grandfather. Your's paternal or maternal grandfather. Mine is paternal. Maternal
October 26, 200620 yr Will they skip the off day now and go Thursday-Friday-Saturday (if necessary)-Sunday (if necessary)?
October 26, 200620 yr Good thing they didn't play tonight, they would have had to go up against Lost and The Nine. :scared: Well, tomorrow doesn't get any better w/ Grey's.
