Fulton City being investigated by KHSAA?

Featured Replies

Officially, one player is eligible and another one isn't.

Unofficially, Fulton City will have to forfeit their seven wins and won't be eligible for the playoffs.

It's official...on the KHSAA website that Fulton City has has decided to forfeit their seven wins on the season as the ineligible player did play in all the games that Fulton City won as he was on the kickoff return team. My condolences go out to the Fulton City players and coaching staff and community on a tough week.

1A playoffs will now have Ballard Memorial #4 seed at Mayfield #1 seed and #3 seed Fulton County at #2 seed Murray high.

This is highly unlikely, but what if Ballard Memorial refuses to play in the playoffs? Would Fulton City get to play in the first round? I know most coaches like the extra experience for their players but the Bombers got smacked pretty hard just last Friday night to Mayfield and have no chance in winning this game. Just curious.

They would forfeit the game and face some heavy sanctions from the KHSAA.

Ballard and Fulton better not try anything like that...the KHSAA is still mad at Highlands.

For the Fulton Co. Coach to wait till their game with Fulton City to report the problem is un-sportsman like. But then again it is Fulton Co. I think there should be an investigation to see if this coach knew of this problem prior to when he reported it. If so there should be some type or ethics violation handed down to the Coach at Fulton Co.

To all the Bulldogs hold your heads high and know that you do deserve to play in the play offs and some teams have to resort to dirty tactics in order to get in.

To my knowledge, if you have evidence of a violation, you are not forced to report it, but if you do report it, it must be done by a certian date. I don't think that it says something to the fact that you have to report it a certian amount of time after you find out.

Bottom line ... the rules weren't followed. It doesn't really matter when Fulton County knew it and reported it.

So when did Greg McQuerey join the football staff at Fulton County?

So in other words if a rule is being broken and no one says anything about it than it is OK? If I know a rule/law is being broken and do not report it than I could be held at fault too. This is the same case if the Fulton Co. coach intently waited to report this until their game or to see if reporting it would open a slot for his team in the play offs (which they will lose tonight!). Then that is un-ethical.

It's not Fulton County's fault that Fulton City isn't in the playoffs. It's Fulton City's fault. If their administration had done what they were supposed to do, none of this would have mattered. Period.

Someone should lose their job over that. If transfers came and went from their school once every 5-10 years, I could see it. But Fulton County, Fulton City, South Fulton, and Union City swap players all the time. Sometimes 2-3 a year. The transfer process is something Fulton City should know like the back of their hand by now.
