Only because their stadium is bigger. But I think that's what you're saying. :thumb:

Exactly...

Hence the reason I quoted you in the first place... The comparison isn't really fair because Kentucky has a bad team and doesn't fill the stadium, and Louisville has a good team and fills a smaller stadium.

I've gotten 3 hours of sleep since Saturday night, and I'm not going to get much more tonight. Bare with me.

I think the expansion will be great, and make it more feasible that I will get season tickets once I graduate. Without ever being to a major college football stadium like ND, Michigan, upper-tier SEC team, etc, I love the atmosphere at the Pizza Box. With the seats filled up and good teams attracting recruits, it will only get better.

Before you get too excited about this remember this is not a done deal- just a proposal. I hope it happens but it just may not.

I don't think that's the only reason. Kentucky by its name has a wider built-in appeal. Because it is named for the entire state and not just the city, more fans will attach themselves to it. This may not be accurate, but there's certainly something to it if you look at attendance figures nationwide for urban, city-named schools; the highest regular attendance is Miami at #49.

I bet it is more done, than they are leading us to know. They have logged hundreds of man hours on this. If Jurich wants this, it will happen....the UL faithful already want it.

An extra 2,500 people on the waiting list, which is generally 2 tix per order, meaning 5,000 extra people at $35 a game, makes it $175,000/game, now add a 6 games, $1,050,000, and add the average of about $15/person for concessions, that's another $75,000/game....that's a lot of money, and that is only for the people on the waiting list. Now including the 42 additional boxes, etc....this will happen, IMO.

If you look at the picture the terrace is located on the other side at the top of the stadium behind the Crunch Zone.

It looks to me like it is shown in the picture on the south end of the stadium, in a horseshoe shape, at the top of and encircling the existing seating, and connecting the east and west sides.

Isn't that a walkway/terrace if you will? The pic shows the support poles extending out over the sidewalk. That is not currently there is it?

Is 41k capacity now?

That seems like a big jump.

Is 41k capacity now?

Yup. :thumb:

Yup. :thumb:

...and UL thinks there is enough demand for a 50% increase? Wow.

You are correct. Those support poles and the walkway at the top do not currently exist. The walkway/terrace will be constructed over the top of that existing sidewalk. That and the second tier of seating on the east side will be the main addition.

Apparently so...I think it will be full again, very soon after expansion...

I received a new stadium survey in the mail today from the CAF, part of the evaluation process to decide if it should be built and to measure interest. If you return the survey by 10/31 you will be eligible to win free UL bowl game tickets.
