My point still stands, if hes only had 18 innings of pitching experience above A ball, why is he on an MLB roster?

Because it's quite possible that he has the stuff worthy of being on a MLB roster. But, there are times to find that stuff out without costing you the game. He had more proven pitchers he could've gone to last night.

I know you have issues with ownership but I don't think ownership is going anywhere soon. And if the GM is calling shots in the field or lineup, it's definitely time for Price to go in my opinion. I thought that is what Price is getting paid to do.

The Red Sox had the exact same situation come upon Opening Day. Bobby Poyner hadn't pitched in the Majors yet and is on the roster as basically a lefty specialist. In a one run game and men on Cora elected not to go to Cora and Spann hit a triple off Carson Smith and the Red Sox lost. Cora took quite a bit of heat because he didn't go to Poyner.
April 11, 20188 yr Does everyone believe Price should have brought in Iglesias last night? I don't. I would not have brought in Rainy in that situation but I would not have pitched Iglesias either. No, but I sure think he should have walked the eighth place hitter to get to the pitcher's spot. That would have forced Kapler hand to either let him hit or pinch hit for him which gets him out of the game. Every manager does that.
April 11, 20188 yr First, the Reds never should've fired Dusty. I knew when they made that decision that they were going to go back to being awful for a while. That said, I've long agreed that firing Price gets nowhere because the team, as constructed, looks like a bunch of utility players outside of Joey Votto and Tucker Barnhart. That said, this team is playing with ZERO fire, energy, enthusiasm, or urgency right now. A culture change, no matter how minor, might be in order. The Reds are looking at a situation where this season could be over by the end of April and that's not going to do the attendance at GABP any favors. Who knows, if the Reds keep losing and hardly anyone shows up to the ballpark that could force management's hand more than any on the field issues.

I think some people, myself included, expected some of the young talent to be performing better than they currently are. I was thinking they could win 75-80 games this year. I don't think anyone expected this.
April 12, 20188 yr The list of people they were counting on for pitching are the same guys on the disabled list. Offensively, 5 of 9 guys arent hitting their weight. But I feel there wasnt any young talent brought up unless you mean Peraza playing everyday.
