April 12, 20188 yr At this point, I think Price is simply trying to get himself fired.... Hamilton CF Peraza SS Winker LF Duvall 1B Gennett 2B Ervin RF Barnhart C Blandino 3B Romano P Sitting Votto any time is dumb, sitting him when he's got a .382 average against the opposing pitcher is asinine. Batting Hamilton & Peraza 1,2 is even more idiotic.

April 12, 20188 yr Peraza is something like 9 for his last 22. With that lineup who else would you want hitting in that spot over him He's got a .243 OBP. That's atrocious. If, and it's mind-boggling they'd even consider it, they're sitting Votto the lineup should be Winker, Blandino, Duvall, Gennett, Ervin, Barnhart, and them some fashion of the other 3.
April 12, 20188 yr Red Reporter @Redreporter Joey Votto has gone 13 for 34 with a dinger, triple, 4 doubles, 5 walks, and only 1 K in his career against Michael Wacha, who's starting tonight for the Cardinals. .382/.450/.647.

I'll take the guy that's been hitting his last 5-6 games over Blandino. He was 0-8 in Louisville for the season before he was called up. I'd like to see Barnhart moved up at the expense of Duvall. He's been awful

Interesting time for a day off. The absurdity of Price.... Votto had a streak of 202 consecutive starts. Will wait to pass judgement until Price meets with the press. If it is just a day off, agree that its crazy
April 12, 20188 yr Mark Sheldon Verified account @m_sheldon 2m2 minutes ago More It’s just a day of rest for Votto. He and Price discussed him getting days off before the season and agreed this would be one of them, especially after extras last night #reds
April 12, 20188 yr Votto vs. Cardinals starters this series.... Wacha: .382 (34 ABs) Weaver: .250 (4 ABs) Mikolas: Never faced Martinez: .158 (19 ABs) Let's give him a day off against Wacha....Makes sense. :lol2:

Winker should be in the leadoff spot until he quits getting on base and Duvall should not hit any higher than 5th and preferably no higher than 6th all year.

He and Price discussed him getting days off before the season and agreed this would be one of them, especially after extras last night #reds Let's see, he needs a day of rest after 11 games and there have already been 3 off days including rainouts. This entire organization is clueless.
April 12, 20188 yr The discussion about stats made me wonder - what time frame of stats are important when making out a lineup? Should the manager look at who had a good night the previous game, a good week, a good month? Obviously career stats and matchups are important. But for those players where it is more iffy, what stats would you look at when you make out a lineup? In fact, let's do this. Make out your lineup for tonight. And keep Votto out of it because you agreed before the season started that this would be a day off for him.
April 13, 20188 yr I am beginning to think that Price wants fired too. Some of the moves just do not make any sense at all.
