March 12, 20188 yr Author So losing by lets say 25-30 plus vs an instate power gets you better exposure? If that was the case why not schedule regular season contest? I'd say they will jump at it if Kentucky or Louisville ever offer.
March 12, 20188 yr A recruit may not consider NKU over UofL or UK, but if a NKU target was deciding between NKU and a conference rival it might just help tip the scales in the Norse favor come decision time. Making a tournament would probably tip the scales over a conference rival, who the opponent was would really matter, specifically in their current conference.
March 12, 20188 yr I'd say they will jump at it if Kentucky or Louisville ever offer. Only because it would be a money game for NKU.

I agree that it is a benfit for them playing Kentucky and Louisville games theyare probably not supposed to win but if they do it would have to be a big boost in recruitment. Getting drummed by 20 or 30 points has nothing to do with his point.
March 12, 20188 yr No better bracket yet, @plantmanky? Gotta be honest, would have to start by redoing the NCAA bracket and making it correct first, several teams in that one that dont belong, that would then be in NIT.
March 12, 20188 yr Gotta be honest, would have to start by redoing the NCAA bracket and making it correct first, several teams in that one that dont belong, that would then be in NIT. You can just do the NIT and re-seed it so it will reflect how NKU should have been seeded differently to avoid Louisville.

Do you not think winning a game like that would be valuable on the recruiting trail?
March 12, 20188 yr So crowd size is more important than correct brackets? For the NIT it is. Most of the attention is on the NCAA so they have to do whatever they can do to draw in more fans.

March 12, 20188 yr IF everyone concedes that they are going to be drummed by 20 - 30 points by Louisville, then no one should have a complaint about not being in the NCAA. When opportunity knocks .............................. Looks to me like win/win for NKU.

March 12, 20188 yr I agree and don't see Norse fans traveling far for NIT games. A 7 seed is in line with other Horizon League teams in the NIT. At best you could argue a 6 seed, which is what Vermont received and they are equal with them. NKU fans will travel better than anyone else they could put in this match-up.
March 12, 20188 yr I’m not sure if you’re being serious, but there’s zero chance Louisville beats NKU by 20. I agree! Then this equates to a major opportunity for NKU.
