HUGE win for the Bearcats to wrap up an outright conference regular season title.

Win 2 in the conference tourney and they likely wrap up a 2 seed.

That was a very exciting game.

Go Bearcats!

What day is their conference championship on? Imo they still have to win their conference tournament to lock up a 2 seed. Especially say if they lose to Witichita state in the finals. I think they would fall to a 3, because of not being in a great conference, and going 1 and 2 against the other good team in its conference. Also with basically only having one win against one of the good teams they played this year. They will need to win their torunament to lock up a 2 seed.

Conference championship game will end 45 mins before the selection show next Sun...won't play a factor in their seed, win or lose, IMO, as long as they make it to Sunday. See SMU and UC both getting a 6 seed last year as a perfect example despite SMU clearly being the better team.

As far as their conference, tired of hearing they play in a bad conference. Three top 25 teams (more than the Big East, tied with SEC) and the wins over other P5 teams that teams in this conference have says otherwise. Temple beat the SEC #1 seed, in case you forgot, and SMU beat the Pac 12 #1 seed and regular season champ by double digits. Inconsistent is a better word to describe some of the teams.

Saw this on another board:

Avg computer ranking: UC 8.3 - Mich St 8 (as of Fri.)

Tier 1 wins: UC 5 - MSU 3

Tier 2 wins: UC 8 - MSU 5

Tier 1 Losses: UC 4 - Mich St 4

Tier 2 - 4 Losses: 0 - 0

SOS: UC 68 - MSU 84

Non Conf SOS: UC 148 - MSU 218

Going off of that, Mich St is a lock for a 2 seed but yet UC must win out??

UC gets a 2 seed whether they finish at 29-5 or 30-4, for the same reason X likely gets a 1 seed...other teams continue to lose and they get rewarded for winning.

I am a big UC fan...but tell me you are not saying that you think UC's conference is as good or better than the Big East or SEC?? The reason that the Big East has only 2 or 3 top 25 teams is that they beat up on each other. In the Big East, you play 18 conference games and can lose 16-18 if you don't play well. The only gimmes in the league were DePaul for the whole season and St. John's early (before they got much better late beating Duke and Nova). UC had 10-12 games in conference this season that they only had to show up for to win. Again, I LOVE UC and hope they go to the Final Four, but their conference was weak this year. Temple and UCONN (and Memphis) being down have really hurt the conference A LOT.

You can post all you want about being tired of hearing about their conference. However perception does effect many opinions. Hence why uc has never been really in conversation for a 1 seed and wht 1 lost in 16 games when they lost to Witichita state the first time dropped them to a 3 seed just like that. You may not agree with it, but that conference isn't looked at as good and so any loss in that conference does effect them more than a loss does for other teams.

With that said since it is over 40 minutes before the show. I do agree you are right it won't have much effect then since the champuonship ends literally minutes before the show.

CBS gave the AAC a showcase spot for their two best teams and they both laid an egg. Neither team played well at all. Way to many wide open shots missed today, even air balled. Sloppy turnovers and just dumb plays. WS putting them in a position at the end of the game that they couldnt foul to have a chance because they only had 3 team fouls. Not the best showing for the committee for either team today.

Bottom line, it's a win against a very good team on the road.

Never said UC played in the ACC.

Simply stating that this league has good teams in it that are capable of beating other good teams around the country. You can't just "show up" and win every game in this league, especially on the road, like you say.

Wichita was preseason top 5 and lost 4 games in this league. There are other top 25 teams who would have had similar results playing in the AAC.

Temple might have struggled but still had wins over Auburn, Clemson, South Carolina, and Wichita. If not for some bad losses because of inconsistency, they have a really good resume heading in to the conference tourney.

UConn and Memphis both being down does hurt, considering both were expected to be two of the better teams when the conference was formed. We agree there. The rise of UCF and Houston has helped somewhat offset that.

Again, last year this conference was terrible. I agree.

This year, the numbers and wins simply don't back up your claim that this is a bad conference.

We will agree to disagree. UC will be a 2 seed come selection Sunday as long as they are still playing that day.

FWIW, if their conference was as bad as you say, they would have never been in the discussion for a 1 seed prior to the Houston and Wichita St losses and wouldn't still be projected a 2 seed as regular season champs of this league.

CONGRATS To the BGP / UC Fans ! This was another great game to watch. I really like both coaches, their style of play.

They quickly became projected to be a 3 seed as soon as they lost to Witchita State. If the conference wasn't looked at as being bad, then they would have easily still been projected as a 2 seed still and chance as a 1. But they weren't anymore as soon as they lost that Witchita State game. Shoot if their conference wasn't looked at as being weak. Then they probably would have been even talked about more nationally when they were on that long winning steak. Every other team is this country had been losing lots of games yet UC was still rarely talked about nationally. They were that sneaky good team that kept moving up in rankings that no one talked much about. Because their conference isn't looked at as being that great, hence why they weren't talked about much nationally even while on a long winning streak.

I am not talking about my opinion. I am talking about what the conference is perceived to be nationallu. So you can post all you want about it not being weak. However at the end of the day that conference is still looked at as a weak conference like it or not. UC is a very good team, however they are a very good team that nationally gets little noticed even during this great season as it's because they are not getting respected because the conference perception is that it's a weak conference.
