College hopefuls from your team this year?

Featured Replies

Raceland WR and K/P Returner Derrick Beach is reciever alot of attention from Marshall and West Virginia. Derrick is a great athlete with outstanding speed. I think he has a great chance to play college football, if not at the D-1 lever then definetly D-1aa or D-2. Also Raceland QB Scott Grizzle has visited Eastern, Western, and Marshall. However, I look for Grizzle to end up playing at the D-2 or D-3 level due to his height. I know Mount Union College in Alliance Ohio is VERY interested and has talked to him several times this season. They are currently 6-0 and ranked number 1 in the nation in D-3.

From Pendleton County

#8 Lorenz should be noticed

#33 Deglow is getting lots of offers and visiting every weekend

#61 Pettit is a junior and getting letters/invites from University of Michigan

#55 Koeninger and #68 Miller can probably walk on anywhere with an academic sholarship...smart and talented!

Are you saying that all these kids have full scholarship potential at the Division I or IAA level?

Raceland's QB S. Grizzle, LB J.T. Forrest and Lineman C. Thompson imo join Beach as possible college prospects wether it be on a NAIA or 1-AA level. This really does not matter, a college education is a college education no matter where it comes from and the college degree is what it is all about.

Russell RB Kasey Clark is visiting schools almost every weekend. He's been visiting various D-1 schools this year and still has a few left to visit, including an SEC school with a very bright future.

I wish Kasey all the best, he is an indredible h.s. athlete. Keep us posted on his visits/interest in the various schools if possible.

Do you know what school is most interested in him?

Illinios, Cincy, and Arkansas seem to have his attention but it looks as if Marshall has been coming into the picture here very recently. He visited Cincy this past weekend and liked it alot. He still has schools he wants to see and more programs seem to come into play every week.

Thank you for your support. I will keep you posted on his decisions.

Full scholarship potential...yes...some academic. However, and unfortunately, not every player gets scouted by DI colleges or "talked up" by coaches. Some of these boys are looking at in state schools and football isn't the priority...education is. A couple have had football invites. Many are getting academic invites. I see nothing wrong with that. All are good strong student athletes.

:thumb: Well said Oldrambler. The work in the classroom over rides the work on the field.

I doubled checked on this: #61 Kyle Pettit, junior at PC has attended three Michigan Wolverine football games by invitation and from what I understand is going back this weekend.

Somerset-

Ross Deaton QB is getting some looks from the likes of Eastern and Western. If he doesn't go there he will definitely be able to play at a Georgetown or something like that.

John Wright Polk the kicker at Somerset has been getting looks from D1 schools and 1AA. He has a great leg and if he continues to work at it will be a great addition to anyones college football team.

Cam Jones LB is also getting looks from Eastern.

I agree with the kicker from Somerset; tremendous leg and I would think that some Div I teams have to be interested in this kid.

Who are the seniors on your team that should land either a Division I or Division IAA scholarship offer??

For Danville, there are some players that should play college football somewhere(smaller schools come to mind), with maybe the exception of Jeffrey Guest(rb/wr/db).

At Boyle Co, Josh Miller should land himself at least a Div. IAA scholarship from the likes of WKU, EKU, etc......

Anyone else have a take on this??

If you are looking at Danville, the first thing to consider is GRADES, not athletic ability or anything esle. Boyle Co. I agree Josh M. is the only one that comes to mind.

I would agree that grades are the first thing that any college is looking at; why so much so for Danville???

I am VERY exciting for Mr. Clark of Russell.

I hope he lands somewhere D-1, and to anyone close to him, push him to do so. After a redshirt year, I have no doubt the young man could play safety in the MAC, C-USA, SunBelt, or WAC.

Belfry fans watched one of the most talented football players to ever walk on the field get turned away incorrectly. Football talent means more than than pretty numbers recruiters love so much. Kasey is a player. He is physical, has good size, and good enough speed to play at the next level. As much respect I have for Coach Maglone, I think a D-1 program could maximize his god given talent.

I had a friend who walked on at Nebraska tell me that there is simply no comparison between high school and college, and he played at the highest classification Tennessee has to offer. Why not take a shot at a kid who has proven he has all the intangibles AND a solid base of what recruiters look at.

Kasey Clark might not run like John Logan or have the size of Micah Jones, but he has exactly what it take IMO to succeed and contribute at the D-1 level.

Casey Allen from Breathitt County is getting looked at by Pikeville College. I believe Aaron Mullins is being looked at as well.

Very impressed with Mr. Deaton's arm, but more so with his decision making.
