College hopefuls from your team this year?

Featured Replies

For Cov Cath there should be a few 1AA offers but probably not too many Division I.

Joe Castenada DB DI Cincinnati or Akron

Shane Popham K DI Someone has to offer this kid, he can flat out kick !!!!

Sam Flynn LB 1AA

Brandon Brown 1AA Ivy league

Pete Sutton Possible DI or 1AA at Tight End

Kurt Bovard 1AA Receiver

Wil Geisen 1AA LB

If Bovard is the WR #1, that matched up agians Lexington Catholics Ben Revere in the playoffs last year, he should IMO play at a division I-A school somewhere. He was the best reciver on the opposing team that Lexington Catholic saw last year, and I think he is just as good as some recievers from the MAC C-USA, if not better. He's kinda like a Neal Brown from Boyle, who played at UK.

By the way, Ben Revere has already commited to play baseball at Georiga(and maybe football) if he doesn't get drafted high and goes straight to the pro's.

Full scholarship potential...yes...some academic. However, and unfortunately, not every player gets scouted by DI colleges or "talked up" by coaches. Some of these boys are looking at in state schools and football isn't the priority...education is. A couple have had football invites. Many are getting academic invites. I see nothing wrong with that. All are good strong student athletes.

I was asking the question because I was wondering what kind of speed and size is being put out in Pendleton. I didn't hear about any full scholarship type seniors on their team this year, so I was wondering what are some of their stats. How big and fast was that 33? What about some of the linemen? Is the kid that is being looked at by Michigan fast for a lineman? What are his size statistics. I'm just curious. I haven't got to see a wildcat game this year.

Has anyone heard if Jordan Kramer of Highlands has any offers

Lincoln County

Braxton Miller- Vistited Western, getting looks from other D1-AA schools.

5-11, 185 pounds. Has the body to add 20 more pounds of muscle and probaly gain speed.

Trent Calhoun- Vistited Wester, getting looks from other d1-AA school. 6-0 180 pounds. Super Fast, also can add more wieght and add speed with it.

Jake Elliot- Vistited Wofford, getting looks from D1-AA on down. Great nose for the football and can lay a lick when he gets there.

From what I understand Josh will be playing baseball and while Kater is a tremendous High School football player not too many DI or D IAA's want a 5-10 lineman. Some small school would love a guy with his abilities and aggressiveness

If I had to predict, I'd guess that there are 3 that will get the opportunity to play 1A or 1-AA (not counting Ivy):

Pete

Shane

Joe C.

My pipe dream, Josh, Shane & Kater all go to the same school. They have been together for 4 years and what an asset to any special teams unit. Holder, punter, kicker, & long snapper, that's a deal.

I was really impressed with Miller and Calhoun the past two weeks. Both have good size and good speed and play both sides of the ball. It would be a shame for EKU to let these guys go to Western when they are so close to Richmond.

I have to think Brandon Griffin of Campbell County would get to play at the next level. Over 60 receptions, 1500 yards and 16 TD's should earn him a spot somewhere next year.

Any word on offers to Joe C.? he has D-1 speed and talent, best corner in NKY maybe state?

And how can we leave out Bovard arguably best receiver in the state

I am VERY exciting for Mr. Clark of Russell.

I hope he lands somewhere D-1, and to anyone close to him, push him to do so. After a redshirt year, I have no doubt the young man could play safety in the MAC, C-USA, SunBelt, or WAC.

Belfry fans watched one of the most talented football players to ever walk on the field get turned away incorrectly. Football talent means more than than pretty numbers recruiters love so much. Kasey is a player. He is physical, has good size, and good enough speed to play at the next level. As much respect I have for Coach Maglone, I think a D-1 program could maximize his god given talent.

I had a friend who walked on at Nebraska tell me that there is simply no comparison between high school and college, and he played at the highest classification Tennessee has to offer. Why not take a shot at a kid who has proven he has all the intangibles AND a solid base of what recruiters look at.

Kasey Clark might not run like John Logan or have the size of Micah Jones, but he has exactly what it take IMO to succeed and contribute at the D-1 level.

Thank you so much for your support of Kasey. I greatly appreciate it and I'm sure Kasey does as well. I was saying the same thing after leaving Belfry 2 years ago and seeing the Jones and Howard kid. They were amazing!!!!! I know Jones is playing at UK but what is Howard doing these days? I hope he's playing somewhere because he was a trmendous RB.

Stats are very impressive. I've never watched the young man play. How fast is he? Size?

If you punt for the football team you can walk on the baseball team, but if you get a baseball scholarship you can not play football. It will be interesting to see where he winds up.

Is this for all schools
