I actually feel the KHSAA rules are good currently on transfering. The problems come from how they are enforced. the khsaa rules state, that the player transferring, must have a bonifide/legitimate change of address. The school the kid is transfering to, must send in the paperwork requesting elgibility. This is where the problem begins, because the school the kid is transfering from, has a certain period of time to dispute the kid's elgilbility in writing.(WAY TOO MUCH POWER) Can you imagine if the kid was a good athlete at the previous school and the coach/school does not want to loose him/her? The written dispute, could be totally false and affect the kids chance for eligibility. Although, the move was legit in every way. I think the khsaa should EARN THEIR KEEP and be a representive for not only COACHES?SCHOOLS but for the student athlete as well. They should investigate the situation themselves. Because the only thing of importance that can be lost is the students athlete's elgibility. The coach or school can't loose anything.
