Danville had no answer for Smith or Alexander. Those two were the best players on the court. They got to the rim anytime they wanted. For Danville to be so athletic, they play NO Defense. Smith and Alexander scored whenever they felt like it. Ford did a nice job on Bryce Slone all night. Danville got absolutely nothing out of their leading scores, Thornton and Sutherland.

Yeah it was perfect for me. I couldn't make it tonight and wife isn't feeling great. So I just watched the 2nd half online.

A lot of credit goes to Boyle’s defense. Neutralizing those two is important for success against Danville. Granted Thornton was in foul trouble most of the game but that also caused him to never get into the flow of the game. Boyle did a great job on Southerland and it is good to see Boyle playing defense the way they are capable of playing it. No easy shots.....

 

DeShaud started off super hot but he cooled off quickly. He has so many tools. He was fun to watch when he was rolling.

Danville should never shoot a shot outside the paint. They should drive to the rim every time down the court.

I'm not complaining about anything. The only thing I couldn't figure out is what caused the technical fouls.

The technicals didn't cost Danville this game. They just couldn't get over the hump after digging themselves in a hole and couldn't hit shots down the stretch pre-technicals. They had a three to tie but it missed and that was that.

 

It's just been a disappointing season so far IMO based on the talent available. No All A Classic appearance at the state level for the first time in ages, although Somerset has a great team this year. I'm still hoping the Ads can make it out to region for the first time in seven seasons.

The Rebels become the first Boyle County team since 2005 to go undefeated in district play. When I saw Bryce Slone after the game and asked him how it felt he said they aren’t done yet and have more things to accomplish.

I agree, there's no reason why Danville shouldn't have a winning record, they returned all 5 starters from last years team and a freshman that's got a chance to be great. For this Danville team to be this bad has got to be frustrating.

Danville is the kind of team that could make a run in the tournaments, IF they can just find a way to pull it together. I couldn't predict it right now, but the talent is there.
