Dave Cowens (‘66) and Family are donating a new floor for next year!

Historic Gymnasium Floor at NCCHS to be Replaced: Lead Gift from Notable Alumni Dave Cowens ('66) and Family — NCC

Dave Cowen played for the Boston Celtics, note how the new floor has a square pattern.

Make the Thoroughbreds yellow instead of the floor color and it would look good.

Looks great. Glad to see Cowens steppinh up once more. My favorite line from the article is below.

NCCHS is most grateful to the Most Reverend Bishop Foys, D.D. and the Diocese of Covington for the support of this project.

Believe lighting was just upgraded recently.

From the link in the article, there is a picture of Cowens with an A on his uniform. Where was that from? thanks

That’s awesome. NCC needed some upgrades. That floor will look great. Did they recently repaint the walls?

LED lighting upgrade and a full repaint was done this summer.

Correct

I don't believe he went to St Anthony. He grew up on the Eastside of Newport and was friends with my Dad who also lived on same street (Park Ave maybe) as grade schoolers. I think the A might stand for the old St Anne's that used to sit up on the hill and was torn down for the Newport Pavillion development.
