Trinity hasn’t lost a game in two years... How much longer will the streak continue??

Featured Replies

Or we can continue having Male, Trinity, St X. win 22 of the last 19 championships and not give anybody else a prayer of winning this thing, sounds fair???

"Fairness" is not an issue nor should it ever be. It is about who is successful. Anything which provides rationale as to why success is not happening is excuse making in my opinion. What about the other classes? Was it not fair when Boyle Co. was on their streak of 5 straight titles? Was is not fair when Highlands was on their run? What about Mayfield? is it not fair that they have been so successful?

I am more in favor of other programs stepping up their game, including the program of which I am a fan, St. X.

An institution such as the NFL saw the importance of leveling the playing field by way of higher draft picks for teams less successful, guess they are excuse making too??

When a team only has 7 points scored against it during the regular season within the state of ky, I say let's re-look this

Just my opinions folks, we can go round and round on this subject, money is tied to student populations requiring students to go to certain schools based on their address, while private schools have open enrollment for families who are able to pay tuition. Until students are able to choose their school, it will never be fair

Boy if Trinity has to put up with this type of grief after 2 years, think what De La Salle had to endure after 12.

So when open enrollment happens and these schools are still dominating, what will you complain about?

Why yes I do, and thanks for asking. A regional schedule for 6A private schools, ( Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana), with a regional playoff and regional championship game. Why not?

Because they're from Kentucky.

How about if the public schools step up their game? The large public schools in the states you mentioned don't have a problem being competitive with their private school counterparts. But I guess it's easier to lower the bar then to raise it.

Most of the public school limitations are self-imposed.

It does get pretty old hearing the whining every year. How is it that surrounding states public schools are able to compete with private schools? Maybe instead of demanding that the private schools do something different to accommodate the public schools, the public schools should take a look at themselves and ask what can they do to become more competitive.

Sorry that you have to put up with soo much grief, must be rough, right?

If you're referring to my post it helps to quote the person you're talking to. BTW, I'm not a Trinity supporter, just a jealous admirer. Let's be honest, we all want to be them.

So why exactly is most of the state so dead set on restrictive boundaries instead of just letting all funds follow the student from public school to public school? I have never understood it in areas with larger school districts, if you only have 1 school I get it but if there is more than 1 why not just allow for it? Or better yet, if you live near a county boundary then you could go to the neighboring school system... having 120 counties is absurd anyway with our population (but that is another discussion).

Because they're from Kentucky.

KY's obsession with small schools has a lot to do with this too, in KY they want to keep most schools no larger than 1000-1200 students so they just build a new school and split them up...as opposed to adding on and hiring enough teachers to keep the ratio where it should be.

"We can't beat you guys, so y'all go play somewhere else."

S-E-C! S-E-C! S-E-C!

Never mind, lets keep the status quo, once every 10 years or so a school outside of Louisville might break through. I am sure its because we don't work hard enough in the offseason, and don't coach our players good enough, and don't "do something about it", I am sure those are the keys to defeating goliath. I am sure that Ballard, Eastern, Jeffersontown, and Seneca are excited to know that Trinity might be even better in the next few years after getting drubbed by a combined score of 176-6 this past year. Sounds like district 4 has all the makings of a balanced, competitive district, what a joke!
