Trinity hasn’t lost a game in two years... How much longer will the streak continue??

Featured Replies

Was Male the last team to beat them?

Trinity's last loss was to Male in the regional championship 2015. They lost on a missed extra point after scoring a TD to get within 1 in the waning seconds of the game. That was Male's undefeated championship team.

Why yes I do, and thanks for asking. A regional schedule for 6A private schools, ( Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana), with a regional playoff and regional championship game. Why not?

So penalize those teams with ridiculous travel because the rest of their respective states can't hang? Seems fair.

Is Trinity scheduling Colerain in 2019-2020? Those would be games that could go either way.

Here are a couple of reasons-1) the OHSAA, KHSAA, etc are not going to want some of their bigger gates to walk out the door. St Xavier and Trinity drew approx 9700 in the finals, x let's say $10 a ticket. That $97,000 for that game plus any of the broadcast rights and potential parking( I don't know if Kroger field allowed them the concessions and parking)revenues. Take St X and Trinity away and it is Scott County versus Central Hardin and it draws 3000. That's around $70,000 in lost revenue. Now I heard that St Xavier and Trinity are pretty good in Tennis, Cross country, basketball, golf, swimming, baseball, soccer, etc too so do you allow them to enter their non-football teams in the KHSAA sanctioned events if they don't bring football? Especially when Tennessee already has a separate class for football private schools?

So 8 school league of Trinity, St Xavier, Bishop Chatard( Indy Cathedrals' rival), Lasalle, Moeller, Cincy St Xavier, Elder, and Cathedral. All private boys schools except Cathedral and Chatard. 7 league games. St Edwards and St Ignatius of Cleveland to make it a 10 team league. A lot of travel from Kentucky to Cleveland.

Tired of hearing the excuse of "ridiculous travel", Kentucky travel times are a joke compared to other states like Colorado where a team like Durango would potentially have to travel 10-12 hours to play a state playoff game in the Denver area or further north and east of Denver, a 4 -5 hour bus drive isn't that bad for Kentucky schools.

I'm not talking about playoff travel time. That's going to happen. We're talking regular season.

Or we can continue having Male, Trinity, St X. win 22 of the last 19 championships and not give anybody else a prayer of winning this thing, sounds fair???

Again... You're going to punish the success of those teams because everyone else can't keep up?

"We can't beat you guys, so y'all go play somewhere else."

:lol2:

yep, been happening for 20+ years, guess it can continue for 20 more? Good job guys, way to address a problem

Need to go back to the Jefferson County champ vs. the Kentucky at large champ. At least then the Kentucky at large champ could have state championship rings as well.

Maybe the teams chasing the top dogs should be the ones to address the problem... Just a thought.

Question. What do you think has happened that has led to the Big 3 of Louisville to dominate so in last 20 years?

Prior to that Lexington Schools competed and won a title or 2. GRC and Nelson County had a year. Even other Louisville schools won titles in the 70’s.

So what is different now that makes some think no one can compete any longer?
