Didn't answer the question. Why can't students who don't live in your district play?

A Kenton county student can open enroll in a Kenton county school if their in room in the school but a Boone County student could not play at a Kenton school and live in Boone County . I could not take my student to Cincinnati and have them play sports good Ohio rules they could go to school but that is it

Deep pockets for less well to students it doesn’t matter what school it is

Recruiting a 5th grader for baseball and football the family can’t afford the school level playing field for all

Does it take into account steep grades on mountain passes that go from 6,000 ft to the summit of Wolf Creek or Red Mountain passes that top over 10,000 ft. A school bus can usually only do between 30-40 MPH up these steep grades, for example, from Silverton to Ouray CO it is 24 miles but takes a hour to travel this distance due to Red Mountain pass and the million dollar hwy and multiple switch back where the speed limit is 25 mph, never mind, NOBODY in this area understands unless you have traveled these roads in the fall, winter months, the point was to quit whining about your 3-4 hour bus trips to play games.

You said it took 8 hours by car... But I’m sure you’re right. :lol2:

You’re still not answering the question. Who makes the rule that out of district kids can’t play army your school?

You’re still not answering the question.

The anti-Private school crowd never answers that question. It's easier to blame the big boys for being so good than it is to look internally at their own districts.

I know. They will never acknowledge that any school in the state can accept and play a player from outside their district, county or state if they choose to and if they don’t it’s a self imposed limitation and has NOTHING to do with KHSAA rules that all schools, public and private, follow. I would tell them that if the playing field is truly “unlevel” as they like to say, it’s because they have added weight to their side on their own.

After reading about Colorado travel times, and Kenton to Boone transfers, I can't remember what thread I was reading.

I don't know enough about the issue to give an in-depth comment, but beyond the private schools there does appear to be a haves/have nots situation in Jefferson County Public Schools. You see it in football, boys and girls basketball, and other sports. I'm not sure if there is a solution. I'd love for some of our Jefferson County posters to give some detail.

This has long been a problem within JCPS. It seems instead of pushing the middle of the pack towards the top they'd rather everyone be mediocre at best. I can't applaud enough the job Chris Wolfe has done at Male. Competing with only the ability to get kids in from the traditional middle schools is huge. The kids and families have bought in. The results speak for themselves. That doesn't happen everywhere.

Why can't players who live outside your school's district play?

No reason other than the self-imposed limitations that some districts put on themselves.
