That offer would be there. Just see how camps and your season goes and maybe you would have more options. But Miami is a good spot regardless.

Fantastic news, great fit. Jack definitely has next level size and athleticism. Great school, great choice.. my only question is does baseball still hold any possibility of being a mind changer?

Congrats to Jack and his family! Great young man and even better family. Miami is getting a very versatile TE who is a serious match-up problem for LB's and smaller DB's. He will do well in the MAC.

Couldn't disagree more. Many if not all of the FBS offers for Kam and AJ were received by this point. Jack is a little earlier with his commitment with AJ committing in early April of his Junior year. The MAC level FBS schools will likely be wrapping up their 2019's over the next month or two with the big-time FBS schools mostly done and already working on their 2020's (e.g. Michael Mayer). It's my understanding that Jack was their #1 2019 TE and if that's the case they probably wanted his commitment or they were going to move on and begin putting out other 2019 TE offers. Most FBS programs do not bring in anymore than one TE in a class. If other offers go out, the other recruit commits and the school accepts the commitment then Jack's offer from Miami would likely be gone.

 

Offers have a limited shelf-life and can be gone in the blink of an eye. Jack made a great choice. This FBS scholarship for an out-of-state KY recruit is worth about $200K and is from an outstanding school that would look good on any resume. If you like the school, the program and the situation you'll be in when you get there, then you don't wait around for "more options". And by the way, I don't think this coming season could go any better than the last. A dominating 15-0 is hard to top.

When people say Jack is going to be a TE are they saying a TE who splits out? I don't see him as a TE used for a lot of blocking. His skill set is running and catching. I see him being used in the slot or out wide. He goes up and gets the ball better than most high school receivers.

I agree that Miami is a fine spot but The big time schools are not done with 2019, they just had a ton of guys commit in the last two months for 2018. I know a lot of kids won’t commit until the fall. But either way it’s a good spot for him and a great school.

That is what he will be offensively. He will be a mismatch maker as a TE.
