October 17, 200619 yr I think, he's lost a step or two in his running speed and hard to tell, but that usually translates into lateral movement as well. Perhaps he can, make the move back to SS if ever given an opportunity. It's hard to judge, it's just one of those things in where I'm sure he'd work 100% harder to get the oppportunity to play SS again and if it doesn't work out then he can go back to 3rd, but if he is ever traded I think he'll want 1st shot at playing SS. He has probably lost a step or two because at 3rd he hasn't had to dive as much and he probably would have to work on the throw going away from him, but he would atleast try. He deserves a shot anyway!

Thoughts and Comments, on if this trade would happen and who would the Cubs have to give up. Piniella wants A-Rod Pinella liked and got along with A-Rod before in Seattle. I can certainly see the possibility of A-Rod wanting to go to the Cubs with Sweet Lou. As for your question as to who the Cubs would have to give up. Zambrano could possibly be the one along with Prior. Just guessing, I don't know but "the boss" would want a lot and this is an interesting question.:thumb: Also as for you thread title Strike. :confused: ......I certainly see nothing wrong with it.

October 17, 200619 yr A-Rod has a no trade clause in his contract. I don't think that he would waive it, that would be admitting failure in Pinstripes and I don't think he would do that. Now....if the Yankees came to him saying "we don't want you here anymore, waive the no trade and we will trade you" that might be different.:confused:

If the Cubs aquire A-Rod it would be to play Short-Stop, with Ronny Cedeno more than likely making the move to second base. However, the chances for this deal to even take place is highly doubtful. I'm very hopeful being a Cubs fan, but like I said the chances of this actually happening are very slim to none. Aquiring Ichiro or maybe Barry Zito would be more likely.
