Sources says....Piniella wants A-Rod as a Cub

I think A-Rod would accept the chance to play for him again. With him and Derek Lee they would be contenders for the central. A-Rod could move back to SS where he would rather play and all would be good again!
I believe A-Rod, would certainly benefit from playing in Wrigley but do you think, he's lost any lateral mobility from being at 3rd....

Do you think SVF, that A-Rod could still play SS, at the MLB caliber that would be necessary?

The thread title implies that this should somewhat be surprising. How many MLB managers do you think would also like to have Arod playing on their team this season.

I'm supposed to root for A-ROD!!!?

Alright, which one of you sent me the A-Rod and Jeter photo via email.....

That may be the funniest bit of editing, I've ever seen.

Let me clear it first, with a Mod...

A-Rod to the Cubs, interesting though. I dont really see Alex as a National Leaguer but I suppose it could happen. I could live with parting with A-Rod as a Yankee fan, as long as we get Ramirez and a solid starter or a couple of very promising pitching prospects. This is the kind of deal that may require another team, but how many teams really want to make a deal with the Yanks and the Cubs in a blockbuster.

It would be good for both parties.

You know, I really couldn't tell you, but I do know that would be what he would want, and I'm sure he would try. 3rd is a longer distance to 1st so maybe he would still have the arm to throw but I would say it would take time to get him back in the groove of things. It would be a toss up and it's hard. If it were me I would try to see A-Rod at SS because he felt more natural there and it may cut down on his errors and up his production. Boost his self confidence.

As for A-Rod moving back to short. I have no doubt that he could do it and would be as good as he has been. It may take him 1/3 of the season or so to get back to true form, but he could do it.

I think, he's lost a step or two in his running speed and hard to tell, but that usually translates into lateral movement as well.

Perhaps he can, make the move back to SS if ever given an opportunity.
