Agreed! The attendance is going to be bad even if the team does better than expected, because they are going to lose thousands of season ticket holders.

 

They only had a little over 30k season ticket holders this season per a friend's brother who works for the Bengals.

That is for 8 home games which is all they play during the regular season. 31 of 32. As for friends, Mike Brown doesn't have many apparently. I had club level sets near his private box and anytime I saw him sitting in the box he was by himself.

Agreed. I mean if we are going to be truthful anyone who lives in KY and roots for any team other than the Bengals or Titans qualifies as a bandwagon fan at some point in their life.

I am surprised that Marvin is able to keep his job after all of these years of mediocrity. Nevermind that the fans are screaming loud for a change. I agree with the people saying that the only way to end Marvin’s tenure is by not showing up at the games. As long as a profit is still being made then they’ll never have any incentive to get rid of Marvin.

-The Titans didn't move to Tennessee until 1997, so anyone born before that would have no geographic reason to be a Titans fan.

 

-The people in western Kentucky are much closer to the Colts and former St Louis teams than they are the Bengals.

Bengals average in the bottom 10 in attendance the last 8 years. 2011 only 49000 came to games when Marvin signed back. That was when blackout rule was in effect. It will be down to 40000 next year with Marvin back. Mike Brown knows that will happen but he still signed him back. Attendance is not going to effect his decision on Marvin at all.

You’d think there was but I have to imagine that the steady paycheck helps ease that desire to just walk away. I mean, I think we’d all accept large paychecks from our employers for less than stellar results from our work.

Easily. I jumped on the FSU bandwagon when I was 15 and the Duke bandwagon at 16-17 years of age. Never lived in Florida or North Carolina but I jumped on those teams bandwagons. Why? Winning always helps and I liked a few of their players. That’s still jumping on the bandwagon.

 

I grew up an Oilers fan because I was born in Houston. I didn’t follow the team to Tennessee. Never liked the Titans and I never will even though everyone in Bowling Green(where I grew up) jumped on the Titans bandwagon. None of those people were Oilers fans before.

 

True. The WKY folks tend to root for the Indianapolis and St. Louis teams. That’s understandable.

 

There’s nothing wrong with jumping on a team’s bandwagon. I’ve never understood the negative connotation towards it either. Folks like who they like and root for who they want to root for whatever reason they want to. There aren’t any rules to fandom and there never should. IMO if you root for a team that has nothing to do with where you are from then at some point you jumped on that team’s bandwagon.
