October 18, 200620 yr Right now it would seem the only way it would go down is if UM goes into the Horseshoe and pulls out a tight game and only UL/WVU is unbeaten. In that scenerio, there's no way a 1 loss SEC team gets in over tO$U, and if it was UL they'd be in trouble IMO... I didn't say that the game would happen, just that they may very well be the 2 best teams in the country at that time. Plus your theory on how it would come about really explains why it wouldn't. That school up north over the Buckeyes. ............. ain't gonna happen.

October 18, 200620 yr Michigan and Ohio State. If their game goes down to the wire and both win out the rest of their schedule then does the one loss to the other change the fact that they are the 2 best teams in the country?
October 18, 200620 yr Author ^ no...probably not...but it would effect their post-season aspirations.
October 18, 200620 yr Bottomline. It's gonna be OSU/Michigan versus Southern Cal unless the Trojans lose. USC plays Oregon, Cal and ND all at home. I just don't see them losing. Maybe it's just me, they have had some close calls. In my opinion they will only get better as the season goes on. If Florida and Auburn win out...the winner of that SEC Championship game will jump the winner of WVU/Louisville. Even though they are undefeated.

The only way that I could see this, were if Aubrun blew out Florida, which we all know isn't likely. If Louisville were to win out from here....they will have beaten 3-4 Top 25 teams, one of which in the Top 5....that is good on any resume, no matter how it is spun.

Who are the top 25 teams they have or could beat? I see WVU and Rutgers. I didnt know they had anymore ranked opponents on their schedule.

October 19, 200620 yr ...and Miami was 17th when they beat them. We all know Miami simply isnt that great this year. And I really think that is just really bad luck in that situation for UL. One thing with Pitt and Rutgers is one of the teams atleast might end up losing 2 or 3 more games and wont be a top 25 team or even really all that close to being one. If USC loses it will make things very interesting!

If Pitt loses to Rutgers and Louisville but then comes back and beats WVU they could also find themselves in the top 25. There is potential for four teams from the highly competitive Big East to be top 25 teams. Miami can still win the ACC.

Pitt will most likely beat Rutgers, lose two more (UofL & WV), and Rutgers will more than likely lose to all three.....I don't see either in the top 25 by seasons end.
October 19, 200620 yr Man I think its awfully hard to compare Rutgers, WVA, Miami, and Pitt to Florida playing South Carolina, Tennesee, Auburn (possibly twice or Arkansas), LSU, and Florida St, if Florida wins out It does help that Georgia is down this year though, if Florida wins out. Its really just a tough situation. If WVA or UL go undefeated they deserve to be in the National Title game, but they havent been tested like some of the other teams have.

A one loss Florida or Auburn could definitely argue that they had a better year.
