Cooper 78 The Skills Academy (GA) 65

I thought Covington Catholic would be the team to beat considering what they were returning. But, Cooper continues to roll. The Jaguars are hard nosed and have to be considered the favorite in the 9th right now. Trinity, Butler, Fern Creek, Scott County, Cooper. Those are my top 5 as of today.

Let’s not forget CovCath beat Cincy Moeller, who handled Scott County when they had AJ Mayer in the lineup. That wasn’t the case when they lost to Fern Creek or Cooper.

Way to Represent Kentucky Jags!

Anyone have any stats?

From cincinnati.com

Cooper 78, The Skills Factory (GA) 65

The Skills Factory - Chol 1 0 3, Rauch 6 3 15, Jackmon 7 0 14, Houston 2 0 5, Mullins 5 1 14, Agau 4 3 12, Zepic 1 0 2. Totals: 26 4 65.

Cooper - Kunkel 5 8 19, Oilier 0 1 1, Runion 1 12 14, McNeil 4 13 25, Walters 1 0 3, Spencer 3 3 9, Shidler 1 4 7. Totals: 15 41 78.

Halftime: C 40-27. 3-pointers: C 7 (McNeil 4, Kunkel, Walters, Shidler); TSF 9 (Mullins 3, Rauch 3, Chol, Houston, Agau).

Cooper definitely won this one at the foul stripe and at first glance you would think there was some in-state "homer" bias with the 41-7 advantage in fts made. I don't have the stats but Cooper probably only missed maybe 5 fts all night but the foul calls were legit as Skills Factory (Ga) was a very physical team. A lot of teams would not have been able to stand up to the physicality of this game but Cooper was strong with the ball and moved it around the court under a lot of pressure. Skills Factory never gave up very many easy baskets and Cooper took it to the hoop strong all night. I'm betting the Cooper boys were ready for some good sleep after taking a physical beating on the court. I hope they have enough left tonight to represent against a strong Rocky River team from North Carolina.

I wonder what Skills Factory's take on the 7-41 discrepancy is. I don't know that I've seen such a large discrepancy.

What exactly is Skills Factory.....

I have heard they are not HS kids.

Scott County was wore out from the travel. LOL

It doesn't matter what there take is on it. Have you seen Skill Factory play? They are athletic but not disciplined at all defensively. They try to make up their defensive inefficiencies with athleticism and it doesn't work against a disciplined Cooper offense. And if you haven't heard yet, Cooper is a pretty good fundamentaly sound defensive team.

You are spot on, I had the same take on the game before it was played.

Could have played a factor...but not so much when it’s only one team doing it.
