Will be a challenge for the Colonels till kids learn their roles.

It looked to me that all of the CCH players already know what they're doing, both offensively and defensively, being well coached in that regard. They hardly missed a beat when Frederick got into early foul trouble. Against Ballard, I think they should try to get the ball to the big man more. Last night I thought he was an underutilized asset but that certainly did not hurt them as they won quite convincingly. #22 will need to take very good care of the ball against the Bruins. Last night I thought he sometimes tried to do too much and turnovers resulted. That kind of stuff is like manna from heaven for Ballard.

CCH will get past Ballard, if they don't they will have a lot of rethinking to do.

#2 vs #5? What am I missing, your statement sounds as if Ballard would be a bad loss.

Bruin's press will be their key to success. If CCH #22 can manage the press, where he struggles at times, Colonels will prevail. If he tries to beat press with dribble, Bruin's can give Colonels all they can handle. It will be interesting to see if Colonels decide to leverage their big height advantage with #44 and #30 (not to mention #24). Sometimes the coach decides he wants #22 to do too much.

Great tournament and today's games should be fantastic.

And why would any coach want his Sr. PG that hits 93% of his FTs and 69% of his 3FGs while avg 18 pts per game to have the ball in his hands???? Don't know his assists per game, but suspect it is pretty impressive, too.

Don't get me wrong, love 22's game and he is the key to that team. But you have a huge size advantage and run little to no plays to exploit. At times, too much of the game goes thru #22 and #1... hard to argue i know as they are 2 of the top players in the state. As this team gets deeper in KOB and possibly region/state tournament, they are going to need to balance the load between front court and back.

Was my thought exactly!

Awesome to see all these KY schools with success against out of state opponents! Let’s hope it keeps up throughout the holiday tournaments and keep representing KY HS Basketball well.

I thought I was speaking with confidence.

From the video feed, I watched Cov Cath's #21 AJ Mayer rotate into the backcourt a good bit to help relieve the pressure. His experience and leadership can definitely change the dynamic of this team.

Covington Catholic has to do what they do. It all starts with Frederick. Ball in his hands terrific passer and finds Ruthsatz, Walters , Thelen and now the quarterback. Put ball in 1 hands and let him make decisions.
