Dan Johnson's Life and Death

Featured Replies

The other thread was terminated and I'm not certain why. If this one is then that is okay.

I started reading into this guys background and I have some serious questions.

I'm not going to address the allegations mentioned in the previous thread. But he was involved in a lot of stuff that just doesn't add up.

Here's today's article about the funeral, the family speaking out and allegations.

A Harley by his casket, Dan Johnson’s unlikely rise from a Trump rally to scrutiny, suicide | Lexington Herald Leader

At the age of 24, Johnson moved to Louisville, Kentucky.[2] In the early morning hours of his twenty-fifth birthday, Johnson's 1982 Cadillac Coupe de Ville was found without tires or rims and doused in gasoline in Louisville's Cox Park.[2] Two men arrested fleeing the scene told police that Johnson had paid them to burn the vehicle.[2] After initially signing a stolen vehicle report, Johnson later admitted that he had paid the men to destroy the car — for which he was over $10,000 in debt — so that he could collect the insurance money.[2] He was indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit arson and filing a false police report.[2] He pled not guilty, and the charges were dropped after Johnson completed a six-month diversion program.[3]

Dan Johnson (Kentucky politician) - Wikipedia

The Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting (KCIR) reported and debunked several claims made by Johnson about his life and ministry, including that he helped set up "safe zones" to protect people from the 1992 Los Angeles riots, that he served as White House Chaplain (a non-existent position) to Presidents George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush, and that he had been an ambassador to the United Nations.[2] While Johnson received workers' compensation benefits from the state of New York, KCIR found no credible evidence of Johnson's claims that that he set up an impromptu morgue near Ground Zero in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks and administered last rites to those pulled from the rubble for two weeks.[2]

On the bolded, how can he administer last rites. He is not an ordained Catholic Priest. That is ridiculous.

Just before 5 p.m. Eastern Time on December 13, a lengthy post on Johnson's Facebook page asked readers to support his wife, Rebecca, and alluded to his alleged post-traumatic stress disorder that he claimed resulted from his ostensible presence at the World Trade Center immediately following the September 11 attacks[2] as "a sickness that will take my life, I cannot handle it any longer.

So he had PTSD from 9/11? My question would be how he got inside that ring of security to work with the deceased?

Everything I read about this guy shows a man of lies and deceit on every page and when accused of something (true or not) it was the last straw on his corrupt and deceitful world.

Is there anyone here that knew him or knows any truth to this stuff? I can't believe this guy's story at any moment.

No politics or we are going to close the thread.

And if we have to close this one no more threads will be permitted on this topic.

Who needs a priest. This guy was a Pope. I'm not going to link it but if you go Youtube and search "Heart of Fire gun choir" you'll see one of most bizarre church videos you'll ever see.

This has been interesting to follow. I find it mind boggling that people follow and support a guy like this. I had heard of him, but did not know all that has been written until very recently from the stuff that has been released.

What I said in the last thread was the stone cold truth. I was offered a beverage by Dan right before he tried to sneak alcohol to a person underage behind her parents back.

Pictures of scantily clad women were hung up in the communal area of the church, next to the confederate flags.

I watched his Facebook for a long time, he regularly had not so nice to say things about people that weren’t white, not just the Obama’s.

I knew Dan wasn’t a good dude before he sexually assaulted a 17 year old in 2012.

FWIW, I’m 100% positive that he did it.

I just have issues with a person claiming PTSD who may have never been in a place to have such issues. It makes the people who truly have diagnosed PTSD become doubted when they shouldn’t be.

Crazy. At the very end you have a guy pointing a gun directly at the camera and shooting.

I've listened to the entire podcast and read the entire story that KYCIR (not NPR) did. Just....wow! On so many fronts, just...wow.

Truly insane.

This guy should be featured in a Law and Order episode.

Amen! (Pun intended)

I listened to the podcast ("The Pope's Long Con" if you are searching for it), but did not read the articles. The last podcast released so far (they indicate they may do a final one wrapping up any loose ends / providing any updates) does a nice job of summarizing all the institutions that let people down during the story of Danny Ray Johnson

- LMPD: closing a file early and probably investigating it as a misdemeanor when it should have been looked at as a felony

- GOP: not forcing the issue to insure he wasn't their candidate OR removing him once he was their candidate based on what they knew / should have known

- Democrats: not informing voters about the GOP candidate in efforts to get their candidate elected

- ABC: not continuing to investigate what was apparently well known to be illegal alcohol sales and sales to minors at the "church hall"

- Justice System: (they didn't mention this, but when he was basically caught red-handed for insurance fraud for torching his car and reporting it stolen only to get diversion and the conviction expunged AND probably torched his church for the insurance proceeds AND got a wrist-slap for violating ABC rules on alcohol sales (tried to call it communion)

- Free Press: good on them for calling out their own by pointing out that this story was "served up" to several news outlets that could have done what they did to expose this guy but nobody wanted to pursue
