Here are stats from the last 5 3/4 seasons Comp Attemps % Yards TD INT Eli Manning 2028 3299 61.5% 23,046 149 93 Andy Dalton 1821 2868 63.5% 21,188 140 76 Record 54-35-2 Is he any better than Andy Dalton over the last 5 plus years? The record isn't always an indicator of QB play. Eli isn't a stats guy but with a decent team around him, he can win. He's done it twice. Not even Aaron Rodgers or Brees can say that.
November 29, 20178 yr He's done a lot with no offensive line and a bad defense. He didn't always have OBJ, and the good receivers he's had kept getting injured (Nicks, Cruz, Manningham) .. Only a handful of players have won two super bowls, and two super bowl MVPs. Eli was never a stats guy. But the difference in him and Andy Dalton shows in their playoff stats. Compare that. Not gonna argue with any of that. Like I said, he's got two Super Bowls and has had a solid career. But he's never won an MVP. Never been 1st Team All Pro. The only major category he's ever led the league in is interceptions, which he's done 3 times. And while he does have 8 playoff wins to go with the two Super Bowls, he's only made the playoffs 6 out his 14 years as a starter (including this year), and went one and done in the years he didn't make the Super Bowl. So his playoff record isn't off the charts either. I like the guy. Wouldn't have minded him being my team's QB for most of his career. One of the all time good guys. But I still don't think he's one of the greats. Just a good, solid career.

How many quarterbacks have led their team through every round of the playoffs and won the super bowl twice? Id say that alone makes his playoff record off the charts. Especially when he was compared to Andy Dalton earlier in this thread.

Eli led them down for the game winning touchdown shortly after. The defense played well, but you can't take that away from Eli.

Before that his lines always rated at top 10 and always had Someone like AJ Green. Even with all that he has had only 2 seasons where you can say he was really good and not just slightly better than average. Those years were 2013 and 2015. 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016 were years where Andy was at best slightly better than average. I think Eli could have at least done that here but possibly given us better play in bigger moments than Dalton.

Yet I have rarely said much in the last few game threads about him and yet many people still don't post about the games anyways. Just like this thread probably about ran it's coarse anyways even if Dalton was never brought up.

I have never thought Eli Manning was better than average. That is all I was trying to do with the comparison. It takes more than 1 person to win a Super Bowl and I hate how Eli gets all this love and a free pass because his team won 2 Super Bowls. I think he is a great professional and is probably a pretty good leader. However, he has never been elite and his performance for the last 3 years is actually below average. If he gets credit for 2 Super Bowls, then he has to take the blame for 6-10, 6-10, 11-5, and 2-9 over the last 4 years.
