Saturday playoff games?

Featured Replies

This worked for year in Ohio, but this season they stopped it.

Pa does this. They have Saturday afternoon games, and night games.

They sometimes have double headers at the same time and the district 7 championships are at Heinz Field. Four games on Saturday, all games are basically back to back.(I am 99.9%) I am going this Saturday, which will be my third Saturday in a row going to Pa for games.

Would playoff games on Saturday work for Kentucky.

(5 DOLLAR TICKET FOR THE PLAY OFF GAMES IN PA WITH 2 DOLLARS FOR A PROGRAM)

The games at Heinz Field is 10 total(ALL FOUR GAMES) with 5 bucks for parking.

As long as the schools agreed to it. I wouldn't see a problem.

Playing for a state championship AND playing at Heinz Field? You tell me, who wouldn't want to do that? Once in a lifetime for some kids.

It isn't for the championship, just the district finals. The tourney starts next week with 8 teams in each class.

Never understood why these games are not played on Saturdays. Some of these teams have to leave school early in order to make the game time on Fridays, how stupid is that.

Why aren't the regular season games played on Saturday?

I'd totally be going to these if they were in cincy or kentucky!

The problem with Saturday playoff games is they face potential competition with Kentucky, Louisville, smaller in-state colleges, and big games on television. Friday is fairly free of competition.

Thats another good question, I think more of those should be as well, and more bowl games and such.

Funny UK and UofL basketball have no problem playing on Friday nights.

Are you seriously comparing the two?

Friday night is for high school football weather permitting. Saturday’s is for college football and deer hunting. Also don’t really think kids have a problem leaving school early on Fridays.

I would like to see more of this, also during the regular season.

They do Saturday playoff games in both Illinois and Missouri.

They work very well in Pa.

I know I will be heading back there again in 2018.
