Corbin vs. Wayne Co.

Featured Replies

Wayne County looks to be at least a decent football team. Corbin is not good enough to blow out decent football teams. While I think Corbin will win, I believe that Wayne County is more physical and will keep it close because we have problems tackling physical football teams. I'll go with Corbin by 14.

Corbin uses the week off to iron out all the kinks. Comes on strong as expected in district play. Corbin 42 Wayne 21

Iron out the kinks? Thats what you said the week before Mboro spanked us for 62!!!! :scared:

Given how pitiful this district has become, I would expect Corbin to come out strong. Its not like we're playing Bell County.

If you look at the current enrollment numbers and trends, Corbin and Bell Co. could end up in the same 3A district in 2009.

Actually, I think they will enjoy it more next year.

Its to bad Somerset jumped ship, the new district will be fun for the Hounds next year...Nothing like some fresh meat...

That would be a step in the right direction for the Hounds.

Somerset is playing in 3A with Casey Co, Wayne Co, Jackson Co, Garrard Co and Taylor Co. I had hoped they would be in the Corbin, Middlesboro district it would have been like old times.

I thought Bell was a solid 4A team in the new alignment

Maybe with the smaller districts we can pick each other up as a non-district game. Its a (up until 1999 at least) a traditional rivalry and the schools have been playing in the same middle school conference the last few years and have had some really competative games there--I think it would be a good series that would draw some good gates.

After reading your quote, I was curious to look at the numbers from Class AA, District 4 over the last four years. Corbin has went undefeated in district play in the last three years, but their overall record isn't much better than the rest of the district.

1. Corbin 28-18 .608

2. Garrard County 23-18 .561

3. Wayne County 20-21 .488

4. Casey County 9-39 .231

If you want to compare records make sure you are compairing apples to apples when it comes to the competition that the teams are competing against. If GC, WC, or CC played the Redhounds schedule over the last four years they would have alot fewer victiories than what you show.
