#1 Danville (11-0) vs. #6 Somerset (7-4)

In the regular season meeting between these teams, the Jumpers battled back from an early deficit to make Danville sweat a little in the 3rd quarter. The Admirals steadied themselves and held on for a 37-26 win. Somerset's defense will have to find a way to limit Danville's big play ability, but defense has been the Jumpers’ calling card this year.

#5 CAL (9-2) at #7 Walton-Verona (9-2)

The Centurions have been mediocre on offense for most of the season, with or without QB Austin Carr. Conversely, Walton-Verona has been lights out on defense the past several weeks. They've surrendered seven total points in their last six games combined, albeit against less than stellar opposition. A high scoring shootout would be surprising.

#8 Glasgow (8-3) vs. #10 Newport Central Catholic (6-5)

The Thoroughbreds aren't accustomed to traveling so far away from home, this early in the playoffs. On paper, this appears to be a fairly even game. If the NewCath team that beat CAL shows up, this has the makings of a great game. However, if the team that lost in lopsided fashion to Campbell County, Lloyd, and Beechwood boards the team bus, it could be a very loooong drive back to Newport.

I think this CAL-Walton game could be extremely good assuming the rumors are wrong about suspended players for Walton.

I would go with CAL- just sayin'

Definitely Glasgow and New Cath. Something team chemistry wise seems off on this Newport Catholic team. I will not be surprised at all if they lose to Glasgow. Can the Breds get their act together and get focused for another strong playoff run?

I think CAL & Danville should both win easily but the Glasgow-NCC game could go either way. The possibility of a back and forth multiple lead change game is much more likely in this one.

Not sure why the LCA vs. Prestonsburg game is not listed here?

If Nieves is indeed out for LCA, that means they will be going with essentially their 3rd string QB, a sophomore. Also, it's in the mountains.

I saw on the Lexington news last night that Neives is done for the year. I hate that for LCA. He was having a great year passing and throwing the ball.

That kid is REALLY good.
