NKY Top 10 10.8.06

Exactly! We will never know who is better because they will not play. I do know the only time Beechwood played Ryle, Beechwood won. Ryle was suppose to walk in 4A in NKY, guess not this yr either.

Scrimmages don't mean anything. They just tell the coaches who can play and who can't.

Just like games from seasons past mean nothing. So why bring it up???

It is all opinion based and the only way we know for sure if one team is better than another is if they play. Games from the past really don't matter, they can be a mental factor but they still don't matter in this discussion. We will never know which team is better so just drop it.

I like the list, but HC should be in the top ten and Holmes would probably be 11 on my list. My Oppion may change if the dawgs come out of Edgewood with a W on Friday.

If Ryle is better than Beechwood then how did Ryle lose to Boone who Beechwood beat in a scrimmage? I know, it was a scrimmage and Corey got a little banged up in the beginning of the scrimmage but I watched the BoCo/Ryle game on TV and I think Beechwood would beat both 4A schools.

Beechwood is not that good. They would not beat Ryle, nor Boone. Those schools could take away Bankemper, and Beechwood's QB honestly, isn't super. I watched the NewCath game and didn't come away impressed with either team. The QB's ball floats and against a team like Boone and Ryle, that means int. The scrimmage argument holds no water, and that's coming from a NewCath fan.

I have found out very quickly that some posters just like to argue about anything and everything. As I do agree, that scrimmages and past games do not mean anything having beat a team does have a mental advantage.

As for BHS QB throwing floaters, you need to quit doing that nose candy so you have clear sight of what you are watching. He throws a bullet and has picked every team apart. As for stopping Bankemper, wouldn't happen. No team has done it yet even CCH.

Obviously, as w/any small school contending w/the larger school, it boils down to numbers. Would BHS get tired, probably since their kids play both ways. What is funny to me is that in the past(sorry Legend, I used the past again) no one talked about teams beating BHS (except for Highlands because they were the only team that could) and now that BHS is down this yr every team in NKY can beat them all of a sudden.

Honestly, at the beginning of the yr I would agree that BHS was probably the 6/7th best team up here but right now I think they are 3rd best behind High/CCH due to the way they are finally playing. Only time will tell come the first weekend of Dec when we all see who is still playing and who is home playing Madden.

There will be at least one, maybe two NKY teams better than Beechwood at "home playing Madden" even if Beechwood makes it to the first week in December.

I see only one if BHS makes it to the finals and that would be HHS/CCH due to one of them will have to stay home.

I must say I get a kick out of all the posts on here talking about how "down" Beechwood is this year. Not being a fan of theirs by any stretch, but to say they are down is amusing to me. They beat teams by playing solid fundamental football and keeping turnovers to a minimum. They are obviously very well coached and make the necessary adjustments to win games. And I also think they will make the trip to Louisville again this year.

I wouldn't say that they are down, but I do think that over the past few years, a couple of 4A schools could have beaten Beechwood, which wasn't the case before that. That said, you can't really say anything about them still playing in Dec. and no one else will be because the 4A schools all have to play either a Trinity or St. X or Male, which would do the same thing to Beechwood that they do the the NKY 4A teams.

I agree with you concerning the 4A schools, but then again are 1A schools supposed to be able to compete with them. Obviously Beechwood has in the past, and possibly could this year. They did handle Dixie earlier. NKY has pretty much dominated the state in 1A, while in 4A we haven't.

No they aren't supposed to compete, but at the same time we need to take that into consideration, you cannot compare who goes farther in the playoffs to decide who is the better team..

Yes they did handle Dixie, the same Dixie(they have improved) that should have beaten Boone but shot themselves in the foot too much.

Beechwood is not down this year... Maybe a litlle bit but not much. They went on the road and played Kettering Alter very tough. Alter plays DIII in Ohio and is ranked in the top 3 in the state. If you can play with them than you have to be a pretty good team. Saying all of that I still think that Ryle would end up beating the Beechies in a close one. I say Ryle 3, Beechwood 4, and Boone 5.........:ylsuper: :ylsuper: I know Boone beat Ryle in a very close game, I just think Ryle has a better shot at going further into the playoffs. When and if Ryle throws the ball more they will be pretty tough ...

Again I agree. Dixie is a much improved team. I didn't mean to compare regarding who goes farther in the post season. That definitely wouldn't be a fair comparison, and I apologize if my post was confusing. I easily confuse myself!! But I'll stick with my prediction regarding Beechwood ending up in Louisville again. And I would love to see 3 more NKY teams down ther as well. Unfortunately that isn't going to happen.
