Notre Dame 35 North Carolina State 14

Another impressive win for the Irish.

Josh Adams needs to start to be seriously discussed in the Heisman race. The left side of this Irish offensive line just mauls and wears down teams.

Also the difference of the Notre Dame team the last few weeks and the team who lost by 1 to Georgia is Wimbaush is becoming much more accurate when ND needs a big play. ND is a running team but Wimbaush is improving every week.

Agree with your points about the OL and Wimbaush. The quarterback has made big improvements.

Notre Dame wins out there is going to now be two power 5 conference winners not making the playoff. That will be interesting.

Osu winning today doesn't help Notre Dame. Now it will make it harder to keep Oklahoma out if Oklahoma wins out. If OSU wins the big 10, they almost have to put Oklahoma in. No way they leave Oklahoma out if they win the big 12 and have a big win over the big 10 champ.

Honestly Notre Dame needs Osu, Clemson, or Oklahoma to lose one more now imo.

No individual player had ran for more than 81 yards on NC state going into today I think I heard. Josh Adams puts up 202 yards on the #6 rush defense in the country. Just an awesome game.

I think we can now say the Irish can run against a good defense. 318 yards on 54 attempts for an average of 5.9 yards per carry.

If Notre Dame wins out which I don't want to get ahead myself. But if they do I think eliminates a conference getting two teams in. Outside of maybe an undefeated Georgia losing to bama in the SEC title game. There is no way a 1 loss Wisconsin gets in over a 1 loss ND. Clemson will be the interesting one.

The sec and big 10 will have a team in. Sadly I don't think they leave the defending champs out in Clemson if they win out. Then as I said if osu wins the big 10 and Oklahoma wins the big 12. I don't see how they could leave Oklahoma out if they won the big 12 and has a win over the big 10 champ.

Before today I thought Notre dame definitely would be in if they won out. After how things played out, I am a little worried.

Like I said Clemson is an interesting argument but I just hope NC state bounces back next week.

I think they put ND in over OU if they both win out. Unless OU just tears it up the rest of the year which doesn't seem like a good bet with the way they have been playing.

If the committee is stuck with Bama (undefeated), a one loss OSU (Big 10 Champ), a one loss Oklahoma (Big 12 Champ), a one loss Clemson (ACC Champ), a one loss Georgia (close loss to Bama in the SEC title game) and a one loss ND...yikes! That will fun to watch the committee try to figure that out. That could be the impetus for an 8 team playoff sooner than later.

Highly unlikely but it would be crazy.

This would be the first year where you could really make the case that 8 teams would have been absolutely necessary to make sure the best team won. In the end I don't think this scenario plays out, but ND is the curveball in all of this because they haven't been a real factor to the playoff yet.
