Boone 14 Dixie 10

Featured Replies

I watched the game and I could nail about 15 Dixie kids who could have made plays that would have potentially resulted in a W.

You're right. There were many catchable balls that were simply not caught last night. There were many open receivers that just weren't hit either. The boys know what they did wrong, and it was a collective loss, not the fault of just one player. There's plenty of football left to get the passing game together, because they showed last year, that they can throw the ball. It just takes one game to boost Bricking's confidence, and then watch out, as I feel that what his problem is right now. He just doesn't seem confident in himself, but that one solid game can change everything. However, I absolutely loved their running attack last night. I haven't seen that from a Dixie team in years. The formation of TE, G, C, G, T, T seemed to cause fits for Boone all night. The line was pulling and throwing great lead blocks along with the fullback Day. The only thing that I will question out of last nights game was the play calling at the end of each half. Dixie had the ball with 4+ minutes at the end of each half with 3 timeouts, and Spritzky went to the air. There was plenty of time to keep running as it was working. Plus, you run the clock down and don't give Boone the chance to get the ball back for a last second score.

BTW, the fake punt in the 4th was Farris' call.

Far off from what? Boone being "lucky?" They definitely were tonight unlike last week unless of course you're going to tell me they were lucky for taking advantage of Ryle having 11 in the box.

Far off from my prediction from a Dixie win. I called them 2 breaks that made the diffrence against Ryle. There is a huge diffrence between breaks and luck. But I guess it's luck when you say so?

Who is Dixie's backup QB?

Is this a rhetorical question?

Tough game boys, great game boys...tough loss. Keep your heads up and keep on track. ;) There are always fair weather fans and as I can see they have all come out to express their "kick 'em while they're down" motivation. And DixieChick, as for the Dixie Qb, stay tuned. He is a good kid with a --it load of talent and will go with this team as far as they want to go. I do think that it is terrible to trash one player on BG and I hope that no one else follows your low class tactics. If you have an opinion that needs to be shared please feel free to call Coach(s) at Dixie. The number is listed. And I am sure they will value your opinion as much as the team does. :irked: I will get off my soap box know and again encourage the team to stick together and prove yourselves week after week.:thumb:

Good win Boone, keep your head up Dixie because without the mistakes you win. This one will be interesting if we get to see it again in the playoffs.

Who is Dixie's backup QB?

Not sure, but it really doesn't matter. Bricking is the quarterback of this team, and it will remain his team through next year. He's the best they have, and there's no question he has the talent. IMO, it's just mental. I think he came into this season overconfident after a great sophomore campaign, and with the rough start, his confidence has fallen. All he needs is one game to boost his confidence. Last night's it just didn't happen. So, he'll prepare for Holmes, and hopefully it'll be this week he breaks out. He just needs to relax and play football.

-Hey guy's I was just asking who Dixie's back up QB was,I really have no Idea.I have never said a bad word against Bricking or any of the boy's for that matter.

Fisky, I love to read your posts. Your a diehard supporter of our Red Colonels but DC is too. I'll have to read DC's posts again, but I don't think you can say DC's trashing someone. Just calling it how she see's it. DC is a huge Dixie fan. She isn't one to deny the truth. Joey has struggled so far this season. Add to that that his recievers drop balls that hit them in the chest and it only compounds the problem. Our passing offense is very inconsistent to say the least and in all honesty cost us the game Friday night. We need to do better. You know it, I know it, she knows, and the kids know it. Hiding the truth and not allowing our kids to be held to a certain amount of accountability does nothing for them. So what do we do? We accept responsibility for our actions and work harder so that we overcome. That is what I expect the Colonels to do and I have faith they will. Why? Becuase they want to do better and already know what were talking about. Everybody makes mistakes, just learn from them and become stronger. There will be another game boys, and another, and another..... Keep improving, your getting there.

IMO its never good for a school parent to nail a kid on a BGP.

To nail a 16 year old kid is inexcusable.

I'm not sure how to respond to you without doing what your ACCUSING DC of doing but I'll try.

You watched the game, tell me where in her analysis she was wrong? She also said she did not wish to demean him in any way. Meaning he's better than what he showed because she's seen it. We know how good he can be.

You know, I think that this may be a different approach to parenting the more I think of it. You see I look at these kids and think of them as I would my own kid. When they mess up, I face it WITH THEM, and make them accept responsibility for their actions or shortcomings and then encourage them to change it. I think that one of the hardest things for people to get sometimes is that in accepting responsibility for your actions or inactions it enables you to do something about them. We have plenty of time to do something about things so far, and the way I figure it, it will come in the second round of the playoffs. Redemption is only a week away. Work Hard Colonels!

Please, SM. This is not a "parenting" issue. All good parents deal with problems. They simply don't put it on the web.

Not trying to demean?

3 ints (I believe, plus one fumble) within the opponent's 30 yd line = loss in any game. Dixie held Boone in check for most of the game, but lost IMO to Bricking's lack of confidence, or mechanics, a.

Really?

The worst thing about boards like this is people getting on here placing blame on one KID in the ultimate team sport. As I said before, I could nail a bunch of kids from Dixie for contributing to the loss. I saw WR's not block downfield because they assume Maroney was going down. I saw stupid penalties that kept drives alive for Boone. I saw DBs let up on Farris' TD run up the middle. I saw poor tackling. I could go on and on.

To come on here and nail ONE kid is inexcusable and you can't say she wasn't trying to demean and then watch her demean a KID.

SM, you played. You know as well as I do that its the ultimate team game with no other sports like it. NEVER in the history of football has every player on a team done everything perfectly except for one player. It will never happen.

Many, many kids , including the qb, made poor plays. Either have the knowledge or guts to nail them all or, hopefully, just let your frustrations stop short of the keyboard.

First of all you can get rid of the first 3 non-district games from this discussion because they played the NKY powerhouses.

Bricking is the quarterback of Dixie and will be next year. It is expected for a high school quarterback to struggle, but add on to that dropped balls by his receivers and it just fuels the fire. The kid is in a rut and trust me, I have a feeling that by either the end of this year or next year, all you Dixie faithful are going to be praising this kid. Besides he is still keeping his team in the game and in a position to win, which is all that really matters.

I think your right. We will all be praising him before it's done. Joey has a tremendous amount of talent and will prove it. Like I said, in five weeks the result will be different.

You said it very well. I think all Dixie fan's are cheering for the team. There is nothing worse than hearing the "O or D" did not do great in any game. I don't know if it help's or hurt's.
