Boone 14 Dixie 10

Featured Replies

BC had 14 at half on 2 first downs.

and then ................. 0.

It should have been 28-0 or 24-0 depending on how you add at half. I'd have even taken 12-0 at the half.

Wasn't too far off was I ?

Far off from what? Boone being "lucky?" They definitely were tonight unlike last week unless of course you're going to tell me they were lucky for taking advantage of Ryle having 11 in the box.

Young high school qbs tend to be inconsistent. The kid can make some tough throws and then throw up some that make you scratch your head.

Maroney ran well. Nice job of using his blockers and being patient. I just Dixie is still a year away from top-notch football.

Probably, it's a shame too, Joey and the WR's have not progressed much from last season. Maloney has deffinetly excelled at RB as well as anyone who plays Defense. The Defense is great. But you put that much pressure on them and eventually they'll slip, hence 14 points after turnovers. Still a great effort by the Colonels. Deffinetly an A+ night for effort all the way around.

Dixie still has a tough road to hoe. Holmes, Campbell and Ryle to end the season.

Yes, but I have faith. Our boys will figure it out. Coach Spritzky and Sorrell will regroup and get it done. Attention to detail. Do the little things Colonels, and then the big things will fall in place. Joey, take the time to set. Fundamentals..... WR's run crisp routes and catch the ball with your hands, then bring it into the body. D.... well just keep being what you already are, good enough to stop anybody. Be disciplined. It'll be alright. Your starting to show the heart and desire you need to be great Colonels. Don't doubt now.

Its going to be an exciting ending. Boone and CC control their own destiny . Big game next week between those two. Should CC win, the last two weeks will be crazy trying to guess who finishes where.

I told you it might take till the last week to sort this mess out back in week three. Nobody much believed me though.

Nick Kaiser for Boone County had a great game BTW. Two interceptions and countless solo tackles that would have gone for long gains otherwise. He was the Player of the Game in my opinion.

Interested if any of the Dixie faithful think it is going to be issue of Dixie playing on turf versus grass/dirt?

I think it could be an issue for CovCath later in the year if they have to play a game somewhere along the way on grass after having been on turf the entire year.

Had nothing to do with the outcome of the game.

Boone, congrats on the victory. You guys made the plays, and that was the difference in the game. Kaiser had a great interception to seal the deal.

Dixie, you guys played tough. I was thoroughly impressed with you tonight. It's obvious you have made strides since week 1. Keep your heads up as there's still plenty of football left.

Now, as for my analysis of the game. Dixie outplayed Boone in every facet of the game, other than the scoreboard. I think their new offensive sets really confused Boone. The one thing that really confused me tonight was the play calling at the end of the halves for Dixie. At the end of both halves, they got the ball with 4+ minutes and 3 timeouts. Each time they went to the air. They were moving the ball on the ground all night, and it was almost like they went into panic mode. To me, it didn't make any sense.

I will say kudos to coach Thompson for calling the punt fake on 4th and 17 (or so) in his own territory. That was a huge play.

By my calculations, for Dixie to end up with the #1 seed, they need to win out (Holmes, CC, and Ryle) and have Boone lose 2 of 3 to Holmes , Conner, and Scott.

Anyone want to place odds on that happening?

Congrats, Rebels, on getting the victory.

Dixie, sounds like you played a solid game, unfortunately, the scoreboard didn't shine favorably upon you tonight. Keep up the hard work!

I don't.

I guess we can start to get an idea of the playoffs.

Boone Co likely in at 4-0

Ryle maybe at 3-1

Dixie maybe at 3-1

Campbell Co maybe at 2-1

Holmes maybe at 2-2

SK hurtin at 1-2

Conner out at 0-4

Scott out at 0-4

SK needs a 3-way tie in order to get in. Unlikely to happen.
