Nice win for the Tomcats. However, Mason Co made it a much tougher game than I anticipated.

Congratulations to the Tomcats for the hard fought road win. Overcoming the mental errors and a solid Mason Co. team on the road will make you stronger down the stretch.

Mason Co. out played the Tomcats early in the game and lead at half time. But, Ashland was a little more physical and wore MC down late in the second half. If not for the “rest breaks” provided by time outs for injured players; I think Ashland’s physical advantage would have been more pronounced. No disrespect to the injured players is intended and I don’t mean to take anything away from MC – they are a good football team and gave us all we could handle. They still had a chance to score as time ran out.

I hope that #60 is OK; I didn’t see what happened on that play. Number 20 came back into the game, so I assume he is fine (must have just had the wind knocked out of him) – he got hit hard by 2 Tomcats.

There is a chance that we will meet MC again in the new playoff format. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way.

This score surprised me a bit. Either Ashland didn't play too well or Mason is a lot better than most figured.

I heard Ashland had 7 fumbles. Way too many.

I didn't hear the Slone kids name last night. Did he not play because Bonner was back and going both ways and saw little action?

Very, Very sloppy game by the Tomcats. IMO even the rally in the second half was sloppy. These games are only going to get harder and you cant roll in the playoffs dropping 7 balls a game. But good teams win while playing badly and thats what we did last night. Good luck to Mason Co. in the rest of District play. You are a VERY dangerous team and no one better over look you.

Hoping the flat starts are over,

Yoter

Dickie said that they had 8, but recovered them all.

Congrats to Ashland on the win and to Mason Co. on a good hard fought game. 8 turnovers is alot of turnovers especially this late in the season. Was the field conditions not favorable or just bad exchanges? Does Mason still use alot of spread formations or are they more of a running team this year? Looks like both the Tomcats and Royals are going to tough games for JC in the next couple of weeks.

They actually were not turnovers as the recovered the ball all 8 times.

I think alot of people look at the 2 lead teams in this district and forget that Mason has a solid football team. I look for them to pull off an upset in the first round of the playoffs and maybe the last game of the season.

Well I have seen Ashland look much better, but they showed a lot of grit comimg back for the win like that, and then holding on while Mason made a last ditch effort! There quarterback is very poised and has good feet. I have been impressed each year since we first played them when they had Lofton an Grutza! Coach Bucannon seems like such a Class act even there Radio crew are tops just so respectful of Ashland every time I have had the pleasure of listening to them! I think Mason is that solid of a team they gave Ashland all they wanted an then some! Lookout who ever has to play them next they are a very solid football team! I hate the fact that we will not play next year or ?? I have nothing but good things to say about my trips to MAYSVILLE nice people and good football can't ask for any more than that! GOOD LUCK MASON COUNTY ROYALS the rest of the season!!! :thumb:

Maybe you can come watch the Royals play Russell next season. I'm pretty sure that game may hold some interest for you.
