I really feel like this proverbial game would be closer than most would expect. I do firmly believe that Trinity would come out on top, but it wouldn't be the cakewalk that some want to believe. Cov Cath has a special team this season, special enough that they could walk their way to the 5A title game. And yes, I believe they will roll Bowling Green when that time comes. No disrespect meant to the Purples though, this is just the Colonels year.

Cantrall does not factor in Trinity's four wins versus Out-of-State competition. The same may be said about Litkenhous.

Calpreps does factor in out of state and is much more accurate than the other ones IMO. As posted above, calpreps has Trinity #1, CCH #2 and Trinity is a one point favorite to beat CCH.

CovCath is a great team this year. However every single time we feel like we have a great team in NKY that we feel maybe could compete with Trinity. When they get their chance, it ends up not being a game at all. So hard for me to say CovCath would have a shot against them.

 

It kind of gets back to what I said in the Ludlow vs Beechwood thread. While CovCath definitely has played a solid schedule, their schedule still wasn't as tough as what Trinity has seen. So for CovCath Trinity's offense and defense would be the best CovCath has seen this year. While for Trinity it may not even be the best offense or defense they have faced this year.

 

I feel like if they had got the chance to play CovCath. CovCath would probably give them the best game a NKY team has given them, since probably back when Dixie beat them. However I would still see it being like a 35 to 14 game in favor of Trinity still. CovCath is the real deal, but I just don't believe at Trinity level though.

The colonels are the real deal. I’ve seen them once so far. Their players just look like they are on a whole new level ( size and ability).

Remember when we heard the same thing out of the highlands fans, that we are now hearing from the Covington Catholic fans. Well, highlands started playing Trinity in game type scrimmages and the results were anything but close.

No Covcath fan or NKy fan is saying it would be close, because they seem afraid to actually say those words. But a lot of people seem to be applying it.

CalPreps rates CovCath higher than anybody Trinity has played this year.

 

Which is great I'm glad Calpreps rates them as such. However I don't think Covcath beats Moeller. Moeller is a team who just beat the second rated team in Ohio is St. Ignitious 41 to 20. Im also not sure if Covcath beats either of the Indiana teams Trinity beat. Plus the same with St. X in Louisville and even Male.

Excellent point, Trinity's typical schedule is "Murders Row" and CovCath has tangled with a couple of tough guys.

I'm not afraid to say it because i don't even think it would be close.

We are WAGing here but I would guess 35-21 maybe. I think the balance and talent would be closer than many think but the trenches would make Trinity several scores better.
