I thought it would be interesting to note a few of the more important football games this week.

 

I know Danville/LCA are playing for a district title and is the game of the week in 2A.

 

Pulaski County/Southwestern are playing for a district title.

 

Where else will titles be on the line this week?

Johnson Central at Ashland

 

Raceland at Paintsville

North Hardin (1-0) at Central Hardin (1-0). Winner is the 1, loser is the 2 as both beat Meade (0-2).

 

Russellville (2-0) at Crittenden County (2-0).

 

KCD (1-0) at Frankfort (1-0). Both beat Holy Cross (0-2), so winner is the 1, loser is the 2.

 

Not for the district title, but Edmonson County (2-1) at LaRue County (2-1) is for the No. 2 seed as Elizabethtown (4-0) already locked up the 1.

Warren East at Franklin-Simpson. Both are 2-0 in 4A district 2.

And a little game with minor interest...South Warren at Bowling Green for the 5A district 2 title

3A District 6

 

Belfry (3-0) at Pike Central (2-1)

Floyd Central (1-2) at Lawrence Co (2-1)

Sheldon Clark (0-4) is out

 

Belfry should beat Pike Central and win the district and Lawrence should beat Floyd Central for the 2 seed

 

If Pike Central upsets Belfry, and Lawrence beats Floyd Central, then Belfry, Lawrence and Pike Central will be tied for 1st place.

 

If Belfry wins and Lawrence loses, then Lawrence, Pike Central and Floyd Central could end in a 3 way tie for 2nd place

Whitley @ Letcher Co Central

Perry Co Central @ Harlan Co.

 

If both teams win it will force a three way tie between North, Whitley and Harlan. Actually week 10 games will decide the district championship, if Whitley can defeat Hazard they will be district champs on points, North would be second and Harlan Co would be third and Perry Co would be 4th

Trinity @ Ballard

Henry Clay@Frederick Douglass is for the #2 seed in the 6A district 7 and a home playoff game.

4A region 2 District 4 is still a mess.

OC vs Bullitt East is for a tie for the 2 seed, don't think OC has the points to make the Tie Breaker happen but a win sure would be nice.
