In one way, yeah he could be in trouble but the legal way, he is not in trouble.

 

He's out firing guns in public places... I'm sure not planning to pat him on the back and say good job.

 

I'll give him self-defense... But it's not the publicity you want if you're the Pacers.

Here's a test for you guys.....Use the following words, in a "constructive" sentence and good luck....:lol:

 

Guns

Strip Club

Illegal Narcotics

Professional Athletes

Altercation

 

They go together quite often, just not in a positive manner.

I did not say pat him on the back, I was just stating that he's not in trouble with the police.

Why is it the mainly small market teams that lead their respective leagues in discipline problems? Pacers in the NBA. Bengals in the NFL. Is there just nothing to do in these cities or is it because they aren't under as much media scrutiny as say a NY or LA?

I'm just saying...Maybe I'm smarter than this guy (and he can play basketball better than me, so I'll let him think it cancels out) BUT if I'd just got off probation... I wouldn't be putting myself in this type of situation. Wanna keep from getting into nutcase altercations? Don't go to strip clubs, don't start trouble, don't have weed in your car, and when you see a car flying towards you.. Move. It's a simple life.

You might be smarter than Jackson but unless you're making several million dollars a year it doesn't cancel out. Money covers all kinds of sins. If you were making the money he is, and I'm guessing you aren't, you wouldn't worry about probation. Nothing ever happens to the rich on those kind of charges. As for the rest of it have you ever tried to dodge a car that is "flying" toward you. Unless you're Neo and can slow it down to bullet time I'm pretty sure the car is faster than you. If someone tried to run me down and I had a gun you can bet your ummmmm packanimal that I'd open up on them. These are 20 somethings with millions in the bank and unless you actually kill or horribly injure someone you aren't going to get in any major trouble, they were hanging out at a strip club (which isn't against the law by the way) they were accosted and the people they were in to it with them tried to run Jackson over. I hope the guy got hit by the shots, vehicle versus pedestrian is a pretty cowardly way to act, IMO the gun just evened it up a little. And by the way it was a licensed gun. I don't like Stephen Jackson, the Pacers or concealed handguns but I don't think this was necessarily the players' fault this time.

You don't have to be at such places to get into trouble with people. Charles Barkley was all the time getting into fist fights at resturants/bars. People just can't stand successful people or who they represent. This time it sounds like they may have said something inside the place and the guys were going to get even with the "Rich Boys" outside.

Jackson is a moron... Argue the point all you want, but he is. Maybe I'd give him the benefit of the doubt if he didn't have this history of going into the crowd and punching innocent fans.. But now, he doesn't even register on the respect meter.
