October 7, 200620 yr Author You might be smarter than Jackson but unless you're making several million dollars a year it doesn't cancel out. Money covers all kinds of sins. If you were making the money he is, and I'm guessing you aren't, you wouldn't worry about probation. Nothing ever happens to the rich on those kind of charges. As for the rest of it have you ever tried to dodge a car that is "flying" toward you. Unless you're Neo and can slow it down to bullet time I'm pretty sure the car is faster than you. If someone tried to run me down and I had a gun you can bet your ummmmm packanimal that I'd open up on them. These are 20 somethings with millions in the bank and unless you actually kill or horribly injure someone you aren't going to get in any major trouble, they were hanging out at a strip club (which isn't against the law by the way) they were accosted and the people they were in to it with them tried to run Jackson over. I hope the guy got hit by the shots, vehicle versus pedestrian is a pretty cowardly way to act, IMO the gun just evened it up a little. And by the way it was a licensed gun. I don't like Stephen Jackson, the Pacers or concealed handguns but I don't think this was necessarily the players' fault this time. :thumb:
October 12, 200620 yr In one way, yeah he could be in trouble but the legal way, he is not in trouble. Hmmm...
October 12, 200620 yr Typical professional athlete behavior at it's finest. Not all behave this way but it seems to be the hip thing to do. He who makes the headlines first do not pass go and go directly to jail!!! only to face probation & a slap on the wrist.
October 12, 200620 yr At the time I said it, was he in legal trouble? hmmmmmm.... No You had to know it was coming... You can't just go out firing guns in public places and not expect consequences... Well, unless you're in the NBA.
October 12, 200620 yr Author You had to know it was coming... You can't just go out firing guns in public places and not expect consequences... Well, unless you're in the NBA. How would I know it was coming? When the incident occured they filed NO criminal charges against him
October 12, 200620 yr How would I know it was coming? When the incident occured they filed NO criminal charges against him Well, I knew it was coming... Again, you don't go firing guns in public places and have no consequences. It just does not happen.
October 12, 200620 yr Sorry have no love lost for any NBA player... This league is always in the news for something.
